  1. He got in today after 2PM so I guess you'll see him tomorrow
  2. Yeah only 900. My boys did it we actually pitched a no-hitter and won 1-0, scored in the first. 900 more to go.We go to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, another 90+ arm. We actually saw 93 todayAlso Angel goes to Huntsville tomorrow, good luck Angel, get all the way back!!!!"Coach"
  3. Actually, I never mentioned it, it was others who did, I always said he could play another position though, but maybe it is a good idea. He probably would relax more and worry more about pounding the ball and not running a pitching staff, just an idea. Don't know what the brass would think about it. I guarantee he'd be pretty damn good at it, he's a worker. I think he was born to catch but fate is a funny thing isn't it? I played outfield my whole life but my career took a turn because of my strong arm and ended as a pitcher. It happens. And fortunately he mashes so it opens more possibilities. Going for my 900th win today, single elimination, tough team 91 arm against us whom Ive coached and my best friend on the other bench whom I coach with in the Fall and beginning of each summer before I leave for USA or All American Team baseball. Should be interesting and I dont want to wait til March to win that one game!!!! "Coach"
  4. I don't worry about Angel's unorthodox swing. We could have changed it in high school and each year talk about it in the off season, he has such great plate coverage even with his sort stature, and phenomenal hand/eye. His hitting has never nor will ever be a problem, and by the way he has not caught yet but hit 2 home runs yesterday, he hits in his sleep (but dont ever ask him how he does it!!) I think a position change to outfield would really help as well, he could probably do it too, he'd get his speed back and has a cannon and wouldnt have to be involved in every pitch every minute, he could eat sunflower seeds and lok around in the crowd once in awhile, just a thought!!! "Coach"
  5. He's got to play in AZ first, make sure he can function with meds, then I guess they will move him. My guess would be a few games at various levels and ending at AAA unless Zaun is back and Lucroy goes back to Nashville, then I dont know what they will do.
  6. Angel is doing fine and actually might play today as DH and will start playing for sure on Monday.Congrats to Lucroy on a well deserved promotion, just shows you gotta be in the right place at the right time and of cause have some talent too. Hope to see angel with you real soon.We clinched an undefeated season today after being tied at 14-0 and playing Thomas yesterday and today to both 3-1 games, today in 11. Next stop playoffs and another Championship"Coach"
  7. I'll see him tomorrow. He's coming by before our game and before he leaves on Tuesday. I'l pass on your thoughts"Coach"
  8. Guys"Anxiety" is not caused by one thing or one person, it is like depression and any other illness, it develops over time. angel does not worry about losing his job or anybody up his back, he gives all he can and worries about himself. If you knew him you would see he is a class act and a religious kid, he just wants to succeed and works hard. He didn't worry about Palmissano nor Lucroy. He likes Lucroy and has told me nice things about him. His problem is something that has taken time to develop and who know the root? He needs to get his correct meds and be able to play while on them. The ADD medication made it worse not better, it had an adverse effect and made him not concentrate, he even lost his release point at one time. He'll be fine and truly wants to be a Brewer and is thankful for the support and wants to repay the fans and organization with a great career. when he gets back he will have to deal with whatever the catching situation is. We actually talked about him playing some outfield (not because of any other catchers in the organization) because it might allow him to relax more and not have to be so intense every pitch of every inning on defense and even in between pitches. He is a great athlete as I said, he has run 6.6 in HS and really isn't that far off that speed. He was slowed after the ankle injury but this winter he was running great and even had a stolen base (but over ran the base and was tagged out) so that is a possibility if the organization and he want to go that way, but you guys have a LOTTTT of OF prospects including Gamel. We shall see what happens, he leaves on Tuesday."Coach"
  9. Thanks to all i will pass on all your thoughts to him. He is actually leaving on tuesday, he gets to spend a few days with HIS little angel."Coach"
  10. Actually, Lucroy is the golden boy now, that was not a dig or a snide remark. He is doing great, says the right things and shuts up and plays. I said that was what Angel did when Palmissano was in the mix. I actually root for Lucroy, he seems like a great kid and every time I read about him he seems humble and dedicated. There are no hard feelings, competition is great. The comment that bothered me was when someone said Angel was out perfecting walking on water. Angel will be fine in a few weeks, he just has to get the right medication and make sure he can concentrate and perform with them, no big deal. He was trying to play without medication, his ADD medication was perpetuating his condition, not fixing it, making it difficult to concentrate. Try catching in AAA or anywhere when your heart is pumping 100 miles an hour and you cant concentrate as well. It caused him to lose his release point etc. He understands all that and is working to correct it. I hope we see both Lucroy and A.ngel in the big leagues soon, as what roles they will play, who knows? but they are both great talents, no doubt!!!
  11. Firstly.; Angel had a baby boy (Angel) on Wed.The baby and his wife Johanica are home and doing fine. Secondly; what Angel is going through is not a phase or something that has been building up, it is a condition and several players as well as the general populace has or has had. Dontrelle Willis, Zack Grienke and to a worser extent Khalil Greene all suffered or suffer. Angel is addressing the problem and going to AZ to get back and healthy. It's not him worrying about Lucroy or anything else said on this website, it's a chemical condition like so many other conditions you and your family and friends may suffer from. Do you make fun of people with depression, OCD or any other condition?? Angel will be fine and wants to play ball, he truly does, it was evident by how hard he worked this off season. My advice to all of you is to forget about Angel and concentrate on Lucroy, your golden boy, he's your future. Angel will do what he has to do and get back on track. If he has to go to AA or even A ball to get back that's ok too. He will be a great major league catcher either in the Brewers organization or somewhere else, just don't jump on the bandwagon. I saw it when Angel came up, he had "Captain Lou" in front of him and pushed him out and you guys killed Palmisano while Angel was the next great thing, now in most people's eyes the tide has turned and Angel is the Devil and Lucroy the future, that's Ok too, just support Lucroy and forget about Angel until he is back and playing well again. I do know regardless of what was said or written, the Brewers are supporting and backing Angel, which says and means a lot, you should too. He'll be in Arizona for a few weeks and then back in the groove. Remember when he was suspended for taking ADD medication and people said and still do, that it was steroids, things aren't always what they appear sometimes and people in the know, usually know!! Angel is a great kid and a great team mate he will be wonderful for any organization he ends up with on the major league level, I and he sure hope it's Milwaukee where he has spent his whole pro career and always wanted to play for.Go Lucroy, he's doing well and hope he continues. We'll see you in a few weeks. And congratulations to Angel for his new baby boy, his strength to admit his problems and his strength to move on and get help and for being honest. "COACH"
  12. Yeah, I saw that mistake. Rafael Gonzalez was taken in the 4th round that year. and Angel in the 5th. Might have 3 this year. (Antonio, Bautista LHP and Martinez 2b- closer)Mikey is special and will be a sky rocket kid through the system (that picks him) He will be a 1st round pick regardless of what people say, he is just too good and has a very high ceiling. He is like his idol Hanley, a little like Escobar but I think Mikey has more pop potential as he continues to fill out..We have 2 sophomores Fernelys Sanchez (the kid I got laughed at on this site when I said he will run 6.1) is now down to 6.4 but hasn't played this season with a broken hand for 2 more weeks and our beast catcher Nelson Rodriguez.
  13. Another 1,2,3 inning with 1 K
  14. Villar pitched a perfect 1,2,3 inning, his first inning of the Spring.
  15. Not with one 22 year old with little experience. They have no pitching, guess that's why they put him on the fast track
