I sat next to a five-year-old girl from near Appleton on my flight from Milwaukee to Kansas City today. She was on her way to Montgomery to see her favorite player, Jadher Areinamo, play his former organization. It was surreal to chat prospects with a kindergartner. She knew her stuff! She calls Marco Dinges "Marco Dingers", and granted I'm not super plugged-in anymore, but if that's not his official nickname already it should be.

Tim Collins had a nice little career.

I guess Payne took the physical.

Josh Adamczewski is making his debut and batting leadoff for the ACL Brewers.

Tim Collins had a pretty good career for a HS UDFA.

Avina's bonus is $260k.

Latest mock draft from Jonathan Mayo at MLB.com:

I don’t remember seeing, outside of extremely small samples, a GO/AO ratio higher than Castillo’s 3.25. Something to keep an eye on.

OF WOAH SOLVDD!

I would have gone with "Coed Copy" myself. KJ Harrison's is bitterly ironic if you've been watching "The Terror" on AMC (you should). Great work as always.

McCalvy sez likely no immediate surgery for Hiura and that Hiura expects to be assigned to Wisconsin.

Ward is one day younger than Workman and is the youngest Brewer draftee this year. In total the Brewers drafted eight 17-year-olds (and two othes who turned 18 earlier in June); that seems really high to me. Not only did they go for youth, they went for young youth.

This sentiment plus the "best college hitter"/second baseman thing makes it feel like a combination of the Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks picks to me. Hopefully it works out similarly.
