  1. Actually very happy about the numbers...I wouldn't have guessed that we could sign him for this kind of reasonable contract. Actually makes me wonder what proven free agent out there would sign for this money? I am thinking maybe a Rick Ankiel type but heck even Kotsay signed a contract for 1.25 mil this season. so this in my mind is a great risk vs reward signing.
  2. With the responses I am seeing I have to wonder if anyone will be this years Yuni or Kotsay. Seemed to me last year we all almost to a person all were unified in our feelings about those 2. Now I am seeing some K-Rod, Gonzalez, Marcum, Wolf, Hart, Gomez, and Iztursis from all different people so it will be hard to see the level of vilification we had last year.
  3. Thank you Casey for representing the Brewers the past few years! I found you to be a good guy to root for! I am sorry about the down year you had last year, I felt for you and your family having to hear the stuff being said. Thanks for the few games like the one against St Louis last year! Good Luck playing for the Pirates! Now on the business side of things, our lineup can not afford to have another year like that from our 3rd baseman with Prince most likely being gone. We have received a bullpen arm that may or may not help us. Worst thing is that we find someone during spring training that makes the team leading us to cut Veras, best thing could be we have a relief pitcher with some major league exp. I have no idea how much it would cost the team if they cut Veras + his rosters replacement salary vs. releasing Casey + his rosters spot replacement salary vs just keeping Casey. I hope Veras has a career year!
  4. Mass thank you! I am my circle of friends go to person on all things Brewers minor leagues, it was because of your efforts (along with many others) that gave me the info to be that person. Never have I been to another baseball site with this much passion and knowledge about the game. Your talents will be sorely missed, although I am happy to hear that you will still be somewhat active! With Colbyjack cutting back on his duties and now you we have some huge holes to fill and I know personally that I am no where near either of your guys standards to do so. Best of luck in all your future endeavours.
  5. In no way am I an expert on things pitching but I was curious as to how much he was used last year...it seemed to me that he was dominate during the regular part of the season and started losing it during the tourney...It seemed to me that Texas was riding him and pitching him deep into games so wonder how much of his troubles were do to being tired at the end of the season...So I am not as concerned as to how he will preform in the minors for us once he gets rest during this offseason...if I am way off base on this please someone correct me.

  7. 12 games over 500 at the end of the season and think that is going to be enough to win the division? Personally I think I would take it.
  8. This race also makes the trade deadline very interesting. I am sure some team will make a trade and then seeing how the other 2 react. Should be fun.
  9. Hey Colby! Congrats, have a quick question for you. It is the same one I ask every year, who are the possible baseball prospects in North west Iowa that I should attempt to get out and see?
  10. Did anyone else catch the Long Island vs Robert Morris? There was a kid with a black baseball cap with the old Brewer logo on it wearing a white t-shirt. I think he was a Long Island fan. I saw it with about 2 minutes left in the game.
  11. Um....ahhhh....huh....WOW! Speechless. I believe that if our minor leaguer's repeat their performance from last year are farm system is not bad off. Scarpetta, Peralta, Rivas, Heckathorn, and Thornburg we are not that bad off for prospects and if Arnett comes around we are sitting pretty. As for hitters, Gennett, Green, K Davis, Schafer, Komatsu, and Dykstra all showed me something. Anyone who has seen Dykstra and Green play could they make the switch to SS?
  12. This has immediately made my hall of fame topic thread. Thanks.
  13. No doubt! Making this move has been a great Christmas present for me. It is interesting to ponder what the Jays might have received if they held out till after the Lee signing but I for one say "Great Job Melvin!" Now the sticky situation is add one more worth while arm without handcuffing the team up the middle. The only one thrown out there that I am interested in is the Braves talk but man I do like Cain and no I personally don't like the idea of adding Pavano for more than 2 years.
  14. I had this dream that I was going to met Lawrie's sister randomly at Miller Park. Have her fall madly in love with me and have lots of children, all who end up professional sports players. Now that dream is dead. Dang, and I was soo sure this was going to happen.
