  1. Did anyone catch the documentary of the 1982 Brewers on MLB Network this past weekend? I didn't catch the name of the program, but I assume it was the Harvey Wallbanger's DVD, which I had not seen before. Glad to see the Brewers get some coverage. I'm enjoying the heck out of MLB Network, it's been on my TV every day since it's release.
  2. There's a lot of excitement in the Philly area about the Phillies' win as I'm sure you can imagine. It was the first sports championship in the city in 25 years (since the Sixers in 1983). Looked like there were a lot of knuckleheads out last night like the guy in the above video, but please don't think all Phillies' fans are idiots like that. I went to Modell's Sports to get some Phillies' World Series gear, and there was about a half hour long wait to check out. It was like that at all the local branches of the store. As far as Jenks, I guess I'm glad to see him get a ring, although I of course would have preferred it had been with the Brewers. I'm just mainly disappointed that Jenkins never turned out to be the player I always thought he would be. On Philly TV, Jayson Werth gave a lot of credit to Jenkins, saying it was great to platoon with him.
  3. I was at the afternoon game yesterday in Philly and it was even worse being there for it. I was openly rooting for the Brewers (not booing the Phillies, but cheering when the Brew Crew did something), so when Ryan Howard hit that two run shot, the people around me good-naturedly let me have it. My wife wore her Brewers shirt and several people would make funny little comments, like the usher at the escalator who tried to tell us it was closed. I will say Phillies fan love to boo, and sometimes boo at the stupidest stuff. I never understand why people boo a pickoff attempt. I can see if the pitcher keeps throwing over, but one attempt? Anyway, when I learned about the sweep this morning, plus Zambrano throwing a no-no in Miller Park, I was pretty well disgusted, but what can you do? Let's just hope they realize their playoff chances are slipping away and the team starts to play some better ball.
  4. Congratulations to my fellow Brewers fans on this awesome accomplishment. I think it's great that the Brewers fans are proving what many of us said all along...If the Brewers put a good team on the field, the fans will come out to see them. I've been a diehard since 1999 when I went to my first Brewers game after moving to the area the previous winter. My wife and I moved away from Milwaukee in spring 2007, which is when the team really started to gel. Just my luck! Well, at least the Phillies are also playing some good ball here, although I don't care about them half as much as the Brew Crew (and I was born and raised in the Philly area!) I'm looking forward to seeing the Brewers make the playoffs, that in itself will be a dream come true for me. Hello to all my old buddies who used to hang around the AOL Brewers message board and the Team Club, way back when in the dark days of Brewer fandom.
