Theres just a few things I want to say about the greatest fans in the game IMO...being at the game on Sunday was one of the greatest experiences in my life. I have been to many games at Miller Park and I have enjoyed all of them. With that said, I had goosebumps from the national anthem (which was unbelievable by the way) to the hook Axford threw to end the game. The intensity and togetherness shown by the fans was awesome. I will never miss a playoff game again. Even though I was chosen in the lottery to purchase tickets at face value, anyone who thinks 50 dollars over face value is too much to pay to experience that kind of atmosphere is insane. Watching that type of fan emotion on TV doesn't even come close to the electricity of being in the park. The MVP chants for Braun and the all out excitement of every fan trumps any baseball experience I have been involved in. Kudos my fellow crew fans. Unlike other teams whose fans seem to be playoff homers (Tampa Bay for instance), Wisconsin fans year after year show their true colors by filling the stadium and pouring out love for players who leave it all on the field 162 games a year. From one fan to the many others on this site, lets keep up the intensity and hope for a world championship in 2011......go Crew!! And on a final note (replaying mentally Robin Yount coming off of the Mound) BEAST MODE!!!

Brewers 40th anniversary season (promotions)
dayzedcrewfan replied to bjkrautk's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Just wanted to throw a thought out there. Of course the barrel in the background is a tribute to the original logo and how the Brewers name came about, but what about the red in the anniversary logo? It may be nothing but I'm wondering if that is a quiet tribute to not only the Braves franchise, but also the minor league Milwaukee Brewers that played at Borchert Field until 1952 where they won 8 American Association pennants and wore a uniform similar to that of the Milwaukee Braves. Any ideas or am I way off base?? -
I've said it a billion times on here and will say it again. I absolutely love Directv. I have had charter and dish network in the past and had nothing but problems with the feed adn customer service. I have had Directv now for almost 3 yeras and love it. Not going to ramble but there are no complaints from me.

Ok as if we haven't discussed enough pitchers who potentially could wind up a Brewer next season, here is another. MLBtraderumors and TH have Washburn on our radar at the age of 35 and a lefty who could help the rotation. If its the early 2009 Washburn I'm all for it. But if it's the knee injured Detroit version I'm a little skeptical. But in any case it could be a great addition to our staff and he's a homegrown boy. Thoughts?

So what are the odds Milwaukee can entice one of the three type A free agent starting pitchers? I know Cliff Lee has a $8 mil option which I am sure the Phillies will pick up. And that leaves Randy Wolf and John Lackey as the two other type A's out there (correct me if I am wrong please). How good are the odds we get one of these in the FA market? Or am I dreaming big and it is more likely we get a Joel Piniero, Carl Pavano or a guy like Erik Bedard (even though his injury is in his throwing shoulder)? Even then I might be dreaming a little big. Or do we end up trying to sign a Justin Duchscherer or even bring Sheets back? Any ideas from the forum?

Ok brewerfan.net, heres a little talking point. In light of Prince's current line of .306/.414/.601/1.015 with 33 HR 110 RBI, when do we consider a long term signing? I realize he is signed through 2010 at 10.5 million next year. And he also is up for arby in 2011. IMO his defense is well improved over the past years and the trade talk (even though he is a Boras client) should stop. What would it take after next year going into his arby year to sign him to a long term contract? Does anyone feasibly think that a deal such as 6 years 84 million would be financially good for the team and enough to keep him in Milwaukee? Depending on his production next year of course. Thoughts?

I agree with X. I think Harang for Hall is a bit of a stretch even with his decline in numbers. I would definitely accept a fringe prospect especially if the Reds have a viable A or AA pitching prospect. With our pitching prospects as they are any kind of minor league starter of value would be a great addition to our farm system.

I gotta say for one that I do agree with TH. The team does need to take some accountability for the struggles, but it doesn't help when you have a replacement ump whose calls are all over the place and can't establish anything resembling a consistent strike zone. And that Derryl Cousins call was a bit ridiculous. Three games is a lot for arguing balls and strikes, and I would love to see at some point MLB umpires taking the high road and publicly saying they screwed up in any certain situation where a call is blatantly bad. I seem to recall an out call at first base last year that was HORRIBLE. Don't remember the game but if I recall it right the runner was almost a full step past first base and he was called out.

Menace I love your post. It speaks to the realism of the true fan. We need to realize that in the realistic world of baseball that top tier players will not stay in a small market area. I would love for Prince to stay in Milwaukee but realistically he wont after his contract is up. He will most likely be in pinstripes or in Boston colors. But I hope he realizes Bores is not the answer and loyalty is the key. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

dayzedcrewfan replied to Herm's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Even though it hasn't really been proven a report came out today that he is actually 26 and not 21 as previously reported, according to WBC info. Kid's still got a cannon, but his price should go down a bit after this revelation. -
If this is in the wrong areas mods please move, but I have a few stadium questions for those who have traveled. First, I'm going to the final series of the year in St. Louis and was wondering how the stadium/fans are? Good places to eat etc. Secondly, my wife is a big Red Sox fan (she assures me shes a Brewers fan first!!), so for our anniversary I got us tickets to US Cellular in September for the White Sox/Red Sox series. We are staying at the Hyatt Regency off of Michigan Ave. (Wacker Dr.). Any advice on transportation, comments on the stadium and area, places to eat, etc. Any comments, advice or otherwise would be appreciated. Thanks all!!

Anyone Else Playing Sheepshead on Yahoo?
dayzedcrewfan replied to zurch1818's topic in Off-Topic Forum
I grew upo in a poker playing family, but my wifes family has played sheeps for years. So when I met her I started to play with the family at occasions. At first, there were some of them I couldn't play with because they would get annoyed with me trying to learn the game. Now, after 4 years of playing on and off I have a good grasp of the game but there are still of few of them I won't play with because for a quarter they have a heart attack if you miss something. For beginners it is tough when you play with people who take the game waaayyy to seriously. I enjoy it, and when I first started to play I wanted to go online to learn and the only place is Yahoo. I figured learn online no money involved, perfect. But, as has been stated, no matter what room I went to I got booted. Even now, even though I assure people in the lobby I can play, since I am not part of the close knit community that is online sheeps, I get booted. I know people take the game seriously, but I find it awfully idiotic that in an online setting a beginner or even someone who has playede for years and just wants to enjoy themselves is treated like an idiot. It just baffles me thats all..... -
Who's on your 2009 All-Star Teams?
dayzedcrewfan replied to thefutureoftherapy's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Just a little bit of my own opinion. Realistically Kemp might be a backup all star OF in the long run, but there is no way he's a starter. His numbers are great but the votes just aren't there for him unless he gets crazy numbers the rest of the month before the July 5th deadline. Also, it would be hard pressed for Prince to make it IMO. Every team has to have an allstar and unless something really dumb happens, the one representing SD will be Gonzalez.
