If you want some free months, I suggest calling up and telling them you want to cancel. When I did, they first offered me a lower rate for a month or 2, then eventually it got to where they offered me 6 months completely free. I still canceled it, as I didn't want the hastle of calling up again and I didn't use it that much (only to listen to the Brewer games). I think its definetly worth a shot to see if they still have that going on. When I got my car in 2005 I bought a year of XM (it came with 3 month free). I called to cancel and they offered to refund me for a month to keep trying. They never refunded me, so I called the next month to cancel and they offered me the same package. I told them they told me the same thing last month and said there was no record of me calling. Needless to say I've been a Sirius subscriber since and will keep it as long as I can.

Final: Ogden (Dodgers) 21, Helena 3 Helena Independent Republic Game Story: Raptors hit six homers in rout of Brewers By IR Staff Ogden wasted little time jumping on Helena's starting pitcher and never let up in a 21-3 shellacking of the Brewers at Linquist Field in Ogden. Ogden hit six home runs in the game and scored their 21 runs on 25 hits. The Raptors took an early lead with five runs in the first two innings. Helena managed to pull close with three runs in the top of the third but the Raptors broke it open with nine runs in the fifth inning. Ogden was led by Lucas May who went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and six RBI. Agustin Septimo was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Brewers. Justin Ruggiano clubbed two home runs, both in the fifth inning for Ogden. David Parker picked up the win for Ogden. Alvaro Martinez lost his third straight decision for the Brewers. Helena will turn to Justin Barnes in tonight's contest. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. (8:00 Central) in the rubber match of the three game series. Final: Huntsville 4, Montgomery (Devil Rays) 2 Huntsville Site Game Summary: In their first game after the all-star break, the Stars displayed a formula that could propel them to a playoff berth. Huntsville knocked out 11 hits, played sparkling defense when it counted most and delivered brilliant bullpen work in Thursday night?s 4-2 win over Montgomery at Joe Davis Stadium. The Stars (11-8, 43-46) maintained a share of first place in the Southern League West second-half standings. The stellar defense stalled the Biscuits when they stood poised to break the game open. With the bases loaded, none out in the third and Huntsville down 2-1, Montgomery?s Vince Harrison hit a bullet at third baseman Chris Barnwell, who made a one-hop scoop and fired home for the force out. Catcher Kade Johnson?s relay to first completed an unlikely 5-2-3 double play, then Matt Ford struck out Jace Brewer to strand two of 11 runners the Biscuits left on base in the game. Prince Fielder put the Stars in front to stay in the bottom of the third. Fielder?s run-scoring, first-inning double gave Huntsville an early 1-0 lead, and he batted again with two on and one out in the third. Fielder?s second double to dead-centerfield knocked in two more runs for a 3-2 Stars advantage. Fielder completed his perfect 3-for-3 night with a seventh-inning single that plated Tony Gwynn Jr. for a key insurance run. Rickie Weeks also continued his hot hitting for Huntsville, extending his torrid hitting streak to a personal season-high seven games and finishing 3-for-4 with a double, two singles and two runs scored. Huntsville?s bullpen was brilliant behind Ford, who permitted just two runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts over four innings. Brian Adams (3-1) picked up the win with two scoreless frames, fanning one and allowing two hits. Fernando Rijo, Roberto Giron and John Novinsky each authored one spotless inning, allowing a total of two hits and one walk while fanning four. Nonvinsky secured his 11th save in 11 chances. Mike Prochaska (2-5) suffered the loss, fanning eight while surrendering three runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings. Stars lefty Jeff Housman (3-5, 3.23) meets Biscuits righty Jared Matthews (2-6, 2.91) in game two of the series on a Fireworks Friday night at Joe Davis Stadium. Game time is 7:05 p.m. on Tools for Schools Night presented by WHNT-19. Fans donating school supplies to WHNT at the stadium receive free general admission to the game. David Weiser's www.starsboxscore.com Huntsville update: THE PRINCE AND THE PESTILENCEBirmingham and Huntsville remain tied for first place, as seems so natural, as the league gets back in the swing after a three-day respite. Three former Stars pulled off a nice trifecta during the All-Star break, winning their respective home run derbies --- Brad Nelson in the Southern League All-Star game, Miguel Tejada in the major league All-Star game, and Bucky Jacobsen in the Triple-A All-Star Game........ The good news doesn't end there for Bucky, and his unique fan club, the Buckybackers. After a 7-year career of ups and downs, perseverance wins out. Bucky Jacobsen is joining the Seattle Mariners. He was in uniform Thursday night at Safeco Field where Seattle entertained the Cleveland Indians. Bucky hit .274 in four years with the Huntsville Stars (1999-2002), then was released by the Brewers on June 15, 2002........ Bad timing as far as I'm concerned. The Cardinals picked him up and in 2003, he hit a league-leading 31 HRs and drove in 84 runs for the Tennessee Smokies. He was also named to the Southern League All-Star team........ Signing with the Mariners as a free agent after that season, he was hitting .312 for the Tacoma Rainiers, leading the PCL in RBIs and 2nd in home runs when Seattle bought his minor league contract......... John Olerud was let go to make room for him. Huntsville fans owe a great debt of gratitude to Bucky for their 2001 Championship (shared with Jacksonville). Coming down from Indianapolis for the first half stretch run, he hit an incredible .441 (41-for-93), slugging a superhuman .860, while driving in 28 runs in 27 games......... The first-half title, of course, was no single-handed effort, but without Bucky, it's doubtful it would have happened........ Bucky will become the 146th former Huntsville Star to make it to the majors once he appears in a game. Bucky isn't the only one getting a promotion....... Ben Hendrickson, # 145 on the list of former Stars to make it to the show, is going back up....... He'll start Monday for the Brewers at Cincinnati, and this time, he's there to stay (we sincerely hope). The Brewers will see what he can do from the #5 hole in the rotation....... Can't be any worse then Wes Obermueller.......... Ben was the starting pitcher in the Triple-A All-Star Game at Pawtucket, won by the International League in the 10th inning, 4-3. Ben (8-2) is currently the International League ERA leader with a 2.27 ERA. Good luck to you, Ben! We wish you great success! The night belonged to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntsville, who swelled the crowd to over 2,200, Prince Fielder, and the gnats. Yes, the gnats. And their friends the flying beetles, the mosquitoes, and the dragonflies. They're always there. Every night. But on this ironically still and comfortable night, they decided either to take in a game after dinner at the nearby city dump or just decide the night was right for a full-scale invasion......... Players were swatting them for the better part of 2/3 of the ballgame. Fielder had trouble catching a foul ball in the 6th inning with a swarm of them in his face....... Chris Barnwell was fighting them at third base......... From one end of the field to the other, they were a constant distraction on the field. But while the players didn't have a choice, the paying customers did........ Some of them had all they could stand, and left in the 5th inning......... Looking up toward the lights at every standard, you could actually see them travel in thick formations that looked like wisps of smoke, swarming from the lights to the lower section of seats where they clung to pants, shirts, hair, body parts, anywhere......... No hot dog was safe tonight......... Who does the spraying in this city? Say, Mayor Spencer, did you know this the election is a little more than a month away? By the way, where are those new seats you promised us? After losing two games to Mobile without Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder, Stars fans found out how valuable they actually are this half........ They combined for six hits in seven at-bats tonight. Fielder came in hitting just .179 against Montgomery in 15 games this season, but he was a one-man wrecking crew tonight, driving in all four runs to carry the Stars to victory as the Stars go to 11-8 to keep pace with the hated Barons........ After such a dismal first half, they have moved from the card room to the engine room on this team....... Weeks (.259) extended his hitting streak to seven games, and is 15-for-40 (.375) in July with six doubles........ Fielder, in 37 at-bats, is hitting .351 for the month while striking out just six times. And, oh yes, nine RBIs in his last 10 games. Looking at Mike Prochaska, who shutout the Stars over six innings on four hits for a 1-0 victory on July 7, the Stars got their leadoff hitter on base in each of the first three innings........... Weeks led off the Stars' first with a single to center and, one out later, scored when Fielder lined a double to the center field wall....... In the 3rd, Kade Johnson (8-for-28, .286 in July after two sub-.200 months) singled through short and into left past the diving glove of Jace Brewer. Weeks then singled on a 1-0 pitch up the middle and off the glove of 2nd baseman Fernando Cortez, sending KJ to second........ After Prochaska struck out Tony Gwynn, Jr. on a hard 3-and-2 slider, Prince drove a 1-1 pitch over the head of centerfielder Amado German again, scoring both runners and making it 3-2. The pesky Biscuits pecked at starter Matt Ford, whose parents drove in from St. Louis to attend this game, for five hits in the first three innings......... Ford, who could not get that first strike to four of the five batters he faced in the 1st inning, nevertheless got two quick outs on seven pitches, but then walked Cortez and gave up a single to .286-hitting Chiaron Isenia........ Isenia came into the ballgame with a .381 average off Stars pitching. After a 3-for-4 night, he's now 11-for-25 (.440)....... Frank Moore, just off the disabled list, worked Ford to a 2-2 count, fouled one off, then short-hopped a ball straight to Fielder for the third out. The Bisquik Nine weren't done with Ford........ With one out In the 2nd inning, the bottom of the order connected with back-to-back hits........ Jace Brewer hit a Texas Leaguer that dropped in front of Jamie Gann. Brian Martin then pulled a 1-0 pitch past the diving gloves of Chris Barnwell and Ozzie Chavez....... Both infielders got a glove on the ball, but neither could stop it. Brewer held up at second as the ball trickled into left........ Dan Massiatte then took a 2-0 fastball and pulled it barely down the left field line for a double into the corner, scoring Brewer........ A deep fly ball to Gann in front of the right field track enabled Martin to score what would be the Biscuits' final run. It looked like Montgomery would have a big inning in the 3rd........ After Cortez chopped a ball over the head of Ford, Isenia drew a walk on five pitches, and Moore reached base on an error........ Moore dropped a bunt down on Ford, who tried to pick the ball up from the third base side of the grass on the infield, but trying to throw before picking up the ball didn't work. Ford was charged with an error and now the bases were full with nobody out......... Chris Barnwell has made 16 errors so far this season compared to Corey Hart's 18 at this time last year, but he looks at times like Brooks Robinson, whereas Hart's scatterarm just can't compare. Barnwell looks like the 3rd baseman we were missing last year, even though the error totals are similar.......... Oh, I still wouldn't trade Corey's bat, but Barney has impressed so many people at the Stadium from the fan in the seat to Manager Frank Kremblas himself........ With the sacks full, Barnwell gloved a one-hop bullet off the bat of Vince Harrison, and fired home where Kade forced the runner, then threw to Fielder to complete a 5-2-3 double play........ From that point on, only three Montgomery runners reached second base........ Ford pitched to only four hitters in his final inning, then left the game to Brian Adams after throwing 73 pitches, 43 for strikes (59%)......... Two starts ago, Matt was on a 75-pitch limit, still coming back from having bone chips removed. In his last start, July 7, he threw 67 pitches. With three days rest or more for the bullpen, Kremblas brought out all the stops........ Brian Adams' two scoreless innings was followed by Fernando Rijo, who left two runners on, but got three fly outs, Roberto Giron, now unscored upon in his last nine relief appearances (8 2/3 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 12 K), and John Novinsky, who threw 17 pitches in the 9th, but picked up his 11th save.......... Fielder drove in an insurance run in the 7th on a one-out single to left off fireballer Carlos Hines, driving in Gwynn, who doubled for the 4th time this month, matching his April total, which is his personal best this season. No, it's not your imagination. The Biscuits are actually tougher against first place teams (21-25) than they are against the rest of the league (15-27), but away from their Montgomery oven, they are 13-30......... The Stars bullpen is 6-2 with a 2.51 ERA over 71 2/3 innings in the second half........ Brad Nelson has struck out 12 times in his last 28 ABs (.429), but is hitting .282 with nine RBI in July......... John Novinsky now has eight saves and a win in his last nine appearances........ Friday, Jeff Housman (3-5, 3.23), 5th among Southern League ERA leaders, makes his 16th start for the Stars in 19 appearances. Jarod Matthews (2-6, 2.91), 3rd among SL ERA leaders, goes for Montgomery on another Fireworks Friday. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with light winds from the southeast. Final: Pawtucket (Red Sox) 12, Indianapolis 6 Indianapolis Post-Game Notes: Pawtucket blasted Indianapolis starter Wes Obermueller (0-1) for six runs Thursday night to defeat the Indianapolis Indians, 12-6. Pawtucket (41-51) snapped a seven-game losing streak and sent the Tribe (42-48) to its third straight defeat at Victory Field. The Red Sox pounded out 14 hits, including Earl Snyder?s 26th homer off Obermueller in the second inning. Indians center fielder Dave Krynzel led the Tribe offense with three hits, scoring a run and driving in a run as well. The Tribe rallied late in the game, scoring four runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth, but were stymied for the first six innings by Pawtucket?s starter, John Stephens (6-6). The two teams meet at Victory Field Friday night for the second game of the four-game series. The Tribe will send LHP Jorge De La Rosa (1-4, 5.66) against RHP Byung-Hyun Kim (0-2, 3.43). QUOTES: Buddy Bailey, Pawtucket manager on the win: "We haven?t played well lately," said Bailey. "Starting pitching usually dictates the outcomes of games. Stephens pitched well. It helps when you can have a quality start like that during a tough travel day. Bailey on Snyder?s home run power: "Snyder had a great first half," said Bailey. "He?s hit balls out of difficult parks like Richmond and Norfolk. He?s the real deal." NOTES: Rupert, "America?s Favorite Survivor," will throw out a ceremonial pitch, take pictures and sign autographs for Indians fans at Friday night?s game. Final: Kane County (A's) 6, Beloit 2 Beloit Game Summary (Kane County Site): The Kane County Cougars beat the Beloit Snappers 6?2 Monday night to start an eight game home stand at Elfstrom Stadium. Jared Trout had his best day as a pro on the mound for the Cougars as River Forest, IL. product Vasili Spanos hit two doubles to put Kane County 11 games over the .500 mark for the second time this season. The Snappers would land on the scoreboard first plating two unearned runs in the top of the third inning to take a 2?0 lead. The Cougars answered in the bottom of the frame scoring three runs on two hits, the go ahead run scored on a bases loaded ground out by Trevor Brown and the Cougars took the lead 3?2. Kane County scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as Luke Appert and David Castillo had RBI singles. Dustin Majewski lifted a bases loaded sacrifice fly to left field scoring Castillo to make it a 6?2 game. That?s all that Cougars starting pitcher Jared Trout would need in route to his first win of the season. Trout kept Beloit off balance through seven innings allowing only two hits while tying a personal season best in strikeouts (7) and innings pitched improving his record to 1-3. J.R. Pickens relived Trout in the eighth, retiring the Snappers in order followed by Jario Garcia who allowed only one base runner on an infield hitto close the door in the ninth. The Cougars will remain in first place in the Western division standings having won nine of their last 11 games. The Cougars will face the Snappers in game two of the four game set Tuesday in a 12:00 p.m. tilt at Elfstrom Stadium. The Midwest League leader in wins, Steve Bondurant will tote the mound for the Cougars while the Snappers will counter with right-hander Greg Moreira. Final: Jacksonville (Dodgers) 3, Huntsville 1 Huntsville Site Game Summary: The Stars? four-game winning streak came to an end Monday night at Joe Davis Stadium. Huntsville led 1-0 into the sixth but fell 3-1 to the Jacksonville Suns (24-21). The Stars (24-21) fell 2 ½ games out of first in the Southern League West. Rickie Weeks? third-inning single plated Ozzie Chavez for a 1-0 Stars lead. In the sixth, starter Chris Saenz walked the Suns? Derek Michaelis with two outs. Nick Alvarez?s hit-and-run dribbler snuck into rightfield, sending Michaelis to third. On a 1-0 pitch, Edwin Bellorin, just activated from the disabled list, blooped a single to center, scoring Michaelis with the tying run. In the eighth, Brennan King launched reliever Pete Zamora?s third pitch deep to left for a solo homer and a 2-1 Suns lead. Jacksonville scored an insurance run with two outs in the ninth. As Reggie Abercrombie broke from first on the 3-2 pitch, James Loney grounded a single to right. Abercrombie raced to third and rightfielder Jason Belcher?s throw came into first baseman Prince Fielder, who cut the ball off. Seeing Loney rounding the bag at first, Fielder dove at Loney as he lunged back safely to the bag. Abercrombie then charged for the plate and narrowly beat Fielder?s throw, avoiding catcher Kade Johnson?s tag with a deft head-first slide, reaching in with his left hand. Derek Thompson (2-2) picked up the win, fanning three and walking one while allowing four hits and one run over seven innings. Zamora (0-1) suffered the loss, permitting only King?s homer with one strikeout in the eighth. Yhency Brazoban tossed a perfect ninth for his seventh save. The series concludes Tuesday at 12:05 p.m. at Joe Davis Stadium, when lefty Ryan Costello (2-0, 4.26) meets Suns righty T. J. Nall (4-0, 2.27). David Weiser's www.starsboxscore.com Huntsville update: HOLE IN THE WALLThis was a yawner....... I'm afraid to say this game was about.as exciting as watching the crane out beyond left-center field........ Only once was there any excitement in watching either........ In the top of the 5th, the PA called attention to one of the last pieces of the scoreboard being lifted away --- the message board, where the players were for many years introduced with their batting averages, home runs, and RBIs....... When the game ended, all that was left of the old scoreboard was three steel girders, the two star-shaped ad signs, and the Cingular sign under what was once the scoreboard. I don't usually call attention to who sings the anthem before the game, but I had met Jody Ambrose before the game........ She came in as a visitor from Beloit, where her husband, a bank executive, is a frequent poster on Brewerfan.net's minor league forum......... She stunned me with her knowledge of the Brewers' minor leaguers, the team, and the minor league system, and even more, found her to be so very nice and refreshing from the usually pre-occupied football junkies at the Joe, who come waiting for their season to start, who normally come out of nothing better to do, and who don't know and don't care to know the players --- true-blue Boosters excluded, of course........ I'd like to welcome her back to Huntsville someday, when we have a scoreboard this time --- our new scoreboard........ Her anthem, sung in a middle register, was excellent, by the way. Using basically the same lineup manager Dino Ebel used Sunday, except for the use of catcher Edwin Bellorin, taken off the disabled list today, the Suns threatened to do something about the Stars' 1-0 lead in the 4th inning........ Brennan King was on first after being hit by Chris Saenz with his first pitch in the 4th (both teams are showing tremendous restraint in getting even. Twelve hitters have been hit by pitches in the seven games played between both these teams), when Derek Michaelis lashed an 0-1 pitch to left-center for a double........ King rounded third and made a dash for home. Tony Gwynn relayed the ball to Rickie Weeks, back after two days off to nurse his fouled off foot, who fired the ball on target to Kade Johnson who made an easy tag on King........ Michaelis alertly took third on the throw, but on a 1-2 smash to short by Nick Alvarez, Michaelis was gunned down at the plate by Ozzie Chavez....... Two men thrown out at home in one inning! Saenz threw a lot of pitches, but with higher pitch counts, lasted through seven innings......... Saenz used all of two pitches to get the first two outs in the 6th inning, but the Suns would score that inning........ He got behind on Michaelis and walked him on five pitches....... Alvarez followed by jumping on an 0-1 pitch and delivering it to right field near the line, giving Michaelis enough of a chance to easily make third....... Still trying to find that elusive out, Edwin Bellorin found the gap in left-center to drive in the tying run. The Suns missed a chance of getting that first run early on in the ballgame........ In the 1st inning, Nelson Castro made his way from first to third on a single to left, a stolen base, and a ground ball, but Willie Aybar flied easily to Brad Nelson in left to end the inning........ In the 2nd inning after Saenz had struck out Brennan King and Derek Michaelis, Nick Alvarez hit a one-hop single to left, then Edwin Bellorin singled to center, but Alvarez overran the second base bag, and Weeks, taking the ball from Gwynn behind the runner, had him trapped dead to end the inning. The Stars scored their run in the 3rd inning on a two-out single by Weeks........ Ozzie Chavez set this one up by beating out a slow chop to short. Shortstop Nelson Castro barehanded the ball and dropped it, but speedy Chavez had the base........ Chavez was in motion when Saenz hit a two-hopper up the middle that was taken behind the bag........ That action enabled him to safely reach second, otherwise this game would have been a shutout in Jacksonville's favor........ Weeks then singled to left, driving in Chavez. With no chance to get him, Bellorin fired the ball to second, but not in time to get Weeks.......Gwynn, however, ended the inning with a one-hop grounder to Willie Aybar........ The Stars did not get a runner past first the rest of the game, despite putting a runner on in five of the remaining six innings. With Pete Zamora in relief of Chris Saenz, Brennan King homered high over the K&M sign in left field in the 8th inning on his third pitch. That proved to be the winning run for Jacksonville, who snapped the Stars' four-game win streak ....... Reggie Abercrombie scored a disputed third run in the 9th on James Loney's single, making a fadeaway slide at the plate........ A soft, rather over-cautious throw by Prince Fielder, who took Jason Belcher's throw from right, would have gotten Abercrombie at the plate, but Fielder lost time trying to tag out Loney who was coming back to the bag......... Abercrombie might have been thrown out a play earlier after Gwynn made a fantastic running catch to the track on a long fly by Nelson Castro........ Abercrombie would have been doubled up, but the throw from Gwynn to Fielder was way off line. Prince actually had to cut the ball off in the outfield grass......... But this game was really decided back in the 8th by Murfreesboro native King....... Normally I love to root for MTSU grads, but not tonight. Prince Fielder filled his new quota of one hit per game with a single to right-center in the 8th. In the 1st inning, he hit into his 6th double play of the season, most of them seeming to come during this slump. Tuesday's game is a 12:05 businessman's special...... No rain in the forecast, but it is expected to be quite warm and muggy........ The eighth and final game against Jacksonville this season will bring out Ryan Costello (2-0, 4.26) against righty T.J. Nall (4-0, 2.27). Nall has held Stars hitters in two appearances to a .100 average......... The Stars, with tonight's loss, falls 2½ games in back of the Diamond Jaxx. The Stars are on their way to breaking a club record for the fewest errors made after 50 games........ After 46, they've committed 43 errors. The record for the fewest made after 50 games is 53 by the 1999 Stars....... The Stars already broke the record for fewest errors after 40 games (with 39), also previously held by the 1999 Stars. Tony Gwynn extended hit hitting streak to eight games with a 1st inning bunt single......... The Stars are still one shy of recording their 700th save in their history. They won their 1,400th game, Saturday night....... The Stars are also 40 strikeouts shy of 17,000 in their 20-year history and 45 away from hitting their 2,000th home run. Big thanks to overnight poster Highroller 720 for all the boxes and logs -- MassBrew... Final: Indianapolis 6, Durham (Devil Rays) 5 Indy with a 4 spot in the 8th... Indianapolis Star Game Notes: Luis Figueroa extended his hitting streak to 11 games, including the game-winning RBI, as the Indianapolis Indians beat the Durham Bulls 6-5 Monday night at Victory Field. The Indians (25-17), behind since the third inning, surged with four runs in the eighth to take the lead for good. Indianapolis scored first when Matt Erickson scored on an error, but the Bulls (23-19) took the lead in the third when Fred McGriff hit a two-run homer down the right-field line. B.J. Upton hit an inside-the-park home run in the seventh to put the Bulls up 5-2 before Indianapolis' big inning. "I trust myself to put the ball in play," said Figueroa in a news release provided by the Indians. "We keep doing the same things over and over again. We never quit." Figueroa's single drove in designated hitter Brandon Gemoll. "I felt like I was swinging the bat well all night," said Gemoll, who drove in two runs and scored the game-winner. "I swung at a couple of dumb pitches earlier in the game. I was looking for a fastball to hit. Before my at-bat, I was working on the tee in the walk through and that really helped me prepare." Roberto Giron (2-0) earned the win and Jason Childers had his 11th save of the season for the Indians. Former Milwaukee Brewer Al Reyes (2-1) took the loss for the Bulls.
