  1. Brewers 5 Cubs 2 Jenkins goes ya ya and Capuano proves why he earned the three spot in the rotation.
  2. The team total salary is $40,789,000, This is a little over a million more than what brewerfan.net has as the total. I noticed that Matt Wise is not listed on brewerfan.net Check over that jsonline link. Thanks
  3. the salary page needs to be updated, i remember reading Overbay received a raise of over 100,000 per year despite being pre arby. I dont know the exact figures, or if any other guys received raises, but that would be something to check on.
  4. I dont like baseball's compensation draft pick system either with the world champion red sox getting the most first round draft picks even though they signed some quality players such as Clement and Edgar. I think that the NFL has the best compensation system. They have a committe meet and decide based on which players the team lost and which ones that they signed. That is the most fair way to do it in my opinion.
  5. No Fielder will likely spend the whole year in Huntsville. Even though he is tearing the cover off the baseball, the brewers will likely be patient with him. My guess is he will start out the year in AAA next year and be called up durring the year. With Overybay batting so well in Milwaukee right now and not eligable for arbitration for 3 years is just another reason for no need to rush him.
  6. I wouldnt be to concerned. I know that Capt Lou was known more for his defense when we drafted him and his bat was a big surprise last year.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Richie got a standing ovation tonite vs the crew. There was no one even close to challanging him for being the fan favorite last year. Sure people liked Jenkins and Pods, but there was no one who came close to his ovations last year. That being said I have liked the trade from day one and it made sense to trade him with Prince in the minors. Brewers management have said he is the best hitting prospect in the minors. I would have to agree. He might not be the best position player prospect if you take defense into consideration, but he has put up some impressive numbers and has a ton of power.
  8. Brewers winning streak will likely come to an end tonight with Kinney pitching. Unless the offense can come alive like in the first two games.
  9. The reason he was traded is because there will be no room for him in Milwaukee in the future. His ceiling is not that high anyways, and with Rickie Weeks a lock with a very high ceiling and Spivey, Ginter, and Hall all capable of playing second base right now there is now need for anymore second base prospects. My guess is they will add another young arm with the player to be named later. You can never have enough young arms in your system.
  10. I agree with the statement about how delarosa and others are doing this year. If Sheets and Davis continue to show they are major league pitchers, and one other person such as capuano or obermueller have a breakthrough year, and the prospects are doing good there would be no reason to have to draft a college pitcher. If Adenhart has a higher ceiling, i say draft him
  11. well yes, i was wondering if you could contact wtmj and see if they would allow it. If you gave wtmj some free publicity maybe they will let you have the 8 or so archives.
  12. I would like brewerfan to archive the Talk'n Brewers Archives. I would think it would not be too hard to get ahold of these. The reason i want it is because the official brewers site is a piece of crap and does not even have the Feb. 14 eddition up yet which I was look'n forward to listening too.
  13. I have no problem with doug signing AAA filler players. They dont cost much and are emergany backups for the big league club. I do however have a problem if they start taking playing time in AAA away from prospects however.
  14. If someone like Spivey gets traded, Sheldon could be moved up to the bigs as our backup 2nd basemen so that weeks can remain in the minors.
  15. I agree, we could use some better brewer writers in the JS like him.
  16. I think they are doing a good job of it. Every other message board i've seen has tons of the same issues. Honestly this is the best baseball message board that i have seen. And you are going to have some duplicates because people arent going to click on every thread just to see if it expanded into the topic they want to discuss. I say good job brewerfan!!!
  17. I agree completely, the same story seems to be on the front page for long periods of time. I realize it is the offseason as well, but it can just be little things that are changed on the frontpage, just so it isnt so borring looking everytime everyone opens it. I love this site, but that would be a complaint of mine.
  18. I would like to see a note of how much we are paying for buyouts of contracts. I know we had to pay Royce Clayton .25 million and .5 million for Glendon Rusch. There may be more as well that i am not aware of. Just wondering if you could add that to the salary page as it would be helpful to showing exactly where our payroll is going. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif
  19. would that not be great if the commisioners office screwed up and helped us out!!!
  20. I would like a printer friendly version of the power 50
