  1. Now that we are at .500 again and Prince's perceived value could not be higher, how about trading him now? Could we get a Josh Beckett for Hanley Ramirez type deal from anyone (where Prince would be the Josh in the deal)? How much could be extract from Boston right now besides Buchholz? Also, maybe we could force the (high payroll) trading partner to take Billy Hall.
  2. I called Will's and the guy told me it was a Cub bar.
  3. I'm in Geneva, IL, a far western suburb of Chicago, and I'm looking for a fun place to watch the game. Any suggestions? Or should I just make the 2 hour trip to Milwaukee?
  4. Sheets pitched 7 innings and gave up 2 ER, 4 H and 2 BB. That's good enough to win on most nights; he isn't going to pitch a CG shutout every game. That is CC's job http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Please consider me for the free tickets. Thanks so much!

  7. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but Milwaukee has a tremendous record of 17-6 in 1 run games. This is easily the best 1 run game record in the league, and it is tied for the most 1 run wins in the league. It would seem that we have been a little lucky in having such a strong record in 1 run games and we should expect to regress closer to .500 in these close games.
  8. Anybody else think it might be a good idea to go back to 14 pitchers?

  10. Is it tough to find parking near the Howard red-line stop?
  11. I'm heading to Wrigley for the first time on Thursday afternoon with my brother (field box on the first base side). Can anyone help me with some tips? 1. I'm tentatively planning to take Metra in from the far western Chicago suburbs (Geneva) and then planning to take the Red or Brown line, but my brother will be coming from the south side of Milwaukee. What is the best way for my brother to meet me for the game? Amtrak from Milwaukee to Chicago? Metra from Kenosha? Park somewhere (??)on the north side and take the Red line in directly? Park somewhere in Wrigleyville (for free??) and walk to the park? From what I can tell, any of the shuttles that sometimes service Wrigley don't operate for day games in May. 2. Any particular suggestions for grabbing something to eat or grabbing a beer either before or after the game? Any other things around the park that we should be sure to check out? 3. Any serious chance that we will get physically hassled at the game if we wear Brewers gear? I don't care about a little verbal abuse (I would be dissapointed otherwise). My brother and I are both tall guys, but we aren't really interested in any shoving matches, beer showers or worse. 4. Any other tips you would share with people making their first trip to Wrigley?
  12. It was actually Favre
  13. Great. That is what I like to hear! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. Baseball only? Anything. I probably have more NFL pennants right now than baseball pennants.
  15. I've started a modest pennant collection from yard sales and second hand shops. I'm not really in a position to pay premium prices for them, but I'm interested in pennants from any team. Let me know if you have any pennants collecting dust that you would like to get rid of.
  16. I was diagnosed with this form of cancer about 2 years ago when I was 31. Mine had actually spread to two lymph nodes as well, which is what lead to my diagnosis. The great news is that it isn't particularly dangerous, especially compared to other forms of cancer.
  17. Scored in 6 of 9 innings, and in one of the scoreless innnings (7th), the bases were loaded with no outs. Impressive.
  18. Is there a reason that Riske isn't a closer candidate?
  19. I had some good success buying some tickets (field box) for the Cubs and Brewers at Wrigley Field from this craigslist seller. If you purchase via paypal, he will mail you the tickets. I'm looking forward to my first trip to Wrigley on May 1. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/tix/605539952.html
  20. I'd love to get any of your items, but you can probably guess which item would cause me to go 1,762 at-bats without a HR.
  21. I'd love a chance at those tickets. Thanks!
