  1. I just can't see the team DFAing Yuni B at this point no matter how awful he is. It would seem to me that if we acquire a SS/3B option then either Wilson or Counsell will go and I hope DM has the good sense to make the right, and only, decision between those two.
  2. McGehee doesn't score there. As terrible as the Loe decision was, RR should get a little credit for getting a better runner in.
  3. I thought he was out but after the replay that was an awesome call. Took guts to make it too in Colorado. The kid done good for himself.
  4. What's everyone's opinion of Jimmy Rollins as a free agent? I feel like defensively he could still hack it, he would fit in with the locker room, and he wouldn't be too expensive.
  5. The first thing I noticed was the great memorabilia they had. That bobblehead collection was pretty deep.
  6. Hey guys, I have two bobbleheads that I will be putting up on eBay if I cannot find someone off the forums who would want it. I am looking for $55 for it plus 4% paypal and $5.00 S/H if you do not live in the metro Milwaukee area. Please email me at: cneldner44@gmail.com if you are interested. They only made 500 of these bad boys so if you are an avid bobblehead collector like I am please let me know. I also have extra Bernie and Fang on the beach, Scooter vs The Snowman, Daren and Bill Buckethead Brigade, and CC Sabathia bobbleheads. Once again if you have any interest let me know.
  7. To any of the members who are located near Viera, FL or have family I would be willing to pay $40 for 2 bobbleheads...Pay for your ticket and the shipping. I also have extra Jake Odorizzi, Scooter, Daron and Bill, and Bernie and Fang on the beach bobbleheads for trade.
  8. If we don't get a SS in return may I throw the name of Orlando Cabrera into the mix.
  9. Have to say I'm at least moderately that the MLBPA let him take that deal for 50 million less to set precedence.
  10. I'll get in on the guessing game as well: Wily Peralta, Nick Bucci, and Carlos Villanueva for Marcum
  11. How about Prince to the Natinals since they fancy themselves a mini Yankees franchise all of a sudden? Not sure about the offer as this might be too much but maybe something like Prince for Drew Storen, Chris Marrero, and Michael Burgess/Destin Hood

If Weeks, Hart, and McGehee continue this season's successes, and Braun and Fielder have bounceback years, we're golden! And let the Kool Aid sipping begin again...This team is far too inconsistent for me to believe they will be anywhere near the top of the second weakest division in baseball...I am sorry boys and girls, (first time being PC!) with the logic you are buying into from what Mark A. and DM are selling...Small sample size, I know this... but just take a look at this for me. http://espn.go.com/mlb/st...ching/split/45/league/nl 1. The Brewers went 14/13(?) in September with the 2nd best pitching rotation statistically, with our "power" office we could only finish above .500 that month considering we played STL, CHC, HOU, NYM, and FLA?? Now, we did not play ANY of our September call ups during this period. (and I personally do not consider Cain as one either but I digress.) This organization is turning more and more into the NY Mets...we just keep throwing money at the problem and pray that it will heal itself, but it won't. We must wait for and hit on a couple of these promising guys in A ball. On a side note, I used to believe it was hard to find true "prospects" in low/high A until a good friend made me realize something, in order to dominate at AA and AAA, you better have hoped to be a step ahead of the competition in A ball. I feel we have a nice, solid core of young pitching coming up from the obvious Odorizzi, Bucci, Peralta (Command will lead him to the pen) Heckathorn, Hall, Lamontagne, and my biggest rule breaker Tyler Thorburg *I really really like what I have read and his peripherals even with a small sample size* You would HAVE To believe the Brewers hit on at least 2 of these guys to be 3-5 type starters and dab in the FA pitching when you are reluctant to trade the abundance of OF (Schafer, Komatsu, Gindl) who by 2012 would make great trade chips to put us over the top and actuall, possibly, make a playoff run. While I will be a first to admit that it excites the hell out of me that the younger guys we threw into the fire help their own, and hopefully making DM realize that young is better than old EVEN if it results in a team that loses more than wins and I expect the same results next year. The window will be open back up in 2012 gentlemen and I would love to hear your thoughts on this. This is the most I have ever written about the Brewers, and I kind of enjoyed it. I have just released my inner-nerd. Thank you all. Be nice on my grammar, I was a science major at Marquette. haha
  13. I believe you are correct in saying "pitching for later" because we are going to get nothing that DM will view as fair value for Prince. I believe they are already pimping the media out, "Oh, all the CHW offered was Hudson for a one to one trade." Melvin will not trade him for the sake of trading him...we shot ourselves in the foot by having our FO believing this was actually a team that could make a playoff push. We will see Prince back all year, I will bet my bottom dollar on it.
  14. Well, when we drafted Heckathorn wasn't the consensus that he was destined to be a bullpen guy with the upside of being a closer? I was talking to a friend who scouts the AFL, and while I am paraphrasing, he liked that he was a big bodied guy who throws on a downward plane. The problem is (as some of us found out when he was in Appleton) is that he throws to many "flat" strikes. Honestly, if a #3 SP is the ceiling some of these prospects guru's give him I am pretty ok with that, considering we hopefully will have that #4-5 pitching spot coming from in-house. While I may not have posted it on here, I believe that the most over paid and undervalued move for an organization is buying 2nd tier FA starting pitching. While looking at his numbers in 2010, and I can't seem to find data on GO/AO rates, his decline in K/9 and slight decline in BB/9 is promising, while it is a sample sample of 40IP or so. When I saw him pitch the first game of a double header at Space Coast, he moved at a quick pace with a lot of confidence commanding both sides of the plate. If he stays healthy, and is that "gritty innings eater" Melvin loves, I think he is in the bullpen by next August, provided he keeps the ball in the yard in Huntsville.
