What about Gumby? He's a home state boy, just don't know if he has attained secret status.

I was going to post earlier, but I actually bought game #2 at the sale. I couldn't really believe that the lineup card for Yost's last game was just sitting there with a bunch of others.

You're probably right, logan. It just seemed like there are a lot of people down on this trade because Marcum has only two years. You just can't get a top of the rotation starter for three years or more without giving up boatloads of talent. I'm not saying Lawrie isn't talented, but its just one guy whose main talent is offense. As many have already stated, you gotta give to get.

I'm not really sure why so many people are hung up by the fact that he is only under control for two years. There are a lot of people calling for a Greinke trade and he is only under team control for two years as well. I don't think two years is a bad thing at all. You can extend him, let him walk in two years when there should be some minor leaguers ready to step in and you get draft picks, or you trade him. I don't think there are many people out there who thought we could get a #1 starter this off season and it looks like we may not be done yet.

I actually really like this hire, although I would have liked any of the three finalists not named Melvin. I think a lot of the reactions are probably due to expectations, since most of the speculation was that Roenicke was the fourth choice. I will definitely not miss Macha always going to the same relievers, regardless if they've been struggling and his penchant for intentional walks.

The one thing that caught my eye in the renewal packet was the post season seat location for partial season seat holders. In 08, we got playoff tickets in a different section, but it was the same area. The renewal packet states that most of the partial season seat holders would get terrace playoff seats. I guess I'm just happy to have guaranteed seats, but why wouldn't they be able to give similar seats?
