  1. Can I ask why, when the other mod just said "it's not your business how we deal with members - it's not made public for a reason," that my strike was made nothing but public? I didn't get any PM or email or anything. I got the strike in public from Cpt. Picard, and then had it repeated by other people. Not once did I get a pm about it and it certainly was made public.
  2. It's not worth it. My words will get skewed and then some mod on the other side of the issue will invent a reason to give me a strike.
  3. So the other thread gets locked. This one is barred from Weeks talk. To recap: they get in the last word about Weeks and if I respond I will be given a second completely undeserved strike, since there is nowhere else to address it. Cool.
  4. What about comment about m____ rides, is that uncalled for, will that guy get banned too? Doubt it.
  5. I have offered multiple arguments but you keep harping on BA because it's all you want to hear. I mentioned SO, the OBPs are almost the same. I mentioned his defense. His RISP. All you went to do is harp on one thing I said. I didn't expect bashing Weeks to go over well, but banning me from the site for it is laughable. I think I offered a pretty sound argument as to why DeRosa has been more productive. If you went to any other fansite they would tell you the same thing. That's fine that you guys want to pretend Weeks has lived up to his billing. No one "proved me completely wrong." You can't do such a thing. If you want to argue Weeks has been more productive fine, but don't act like it's some ridiculous notion to suggest that he isn't. It's not some open and shut case. If either is more productive than the other, it's by a hair and it is a fair topic to debate. Seriously, let the BA thing go. The only person "throwing that up" constantly is you guys.
  6. This is place is getting so ridiculous. You can't even argue baseball without getting disciplined. Well you can, but you have to support the Brewers side of the debate. If someone had used the same line, and said only an insane person could believe DeRosa is outperforming Weeks, you wouldn't be issuing any "strike" and you know it. What a joke. I didn't do anything in this thread that you didn't, and you're supposed to be the "moderator."
  7. "Saying you clearly dislike Weeks only infers that you don't think much of him as a player." No it doesn't. Saying I think he's underachieved on the field would infer that. Saying I "dislike" him infers I take objection to his personality. I never attacked anyone. I said there's no way a sane person can believe Weeks outplayed DeRosa. I don't think the guy started crying. He responded with a smiley face. I am dying to know how anything I've written in this thread constitutes a "strike." That is absurd. You are giving me a strike because I criticized Rickie Weeks and for no other reason. That is comical. The only person blowing things way out of proportion, is you sir.
  8. I inferred neither. Yet you continue to aggressively attack anyone who contradicts your opinions. How interesting. You didn't? I could've sworn you said that I "clearly dislike" Weeks. I'd say that's an inference. An incorrect one at that. And who have I "aggressively attacked?" I don't think I've done anything of the sort. I guess offering an argument that DeRosa has out-played Weeks is an "aggressive attack." How interesting.
  9. He is the best catching "prospect" in baseball. I believe Tom Haudricourt ranked him the same way. Kendall hasn't been any worse than him, but how long do you expect that to last? I don't know what your point is. If you think there's a GM in the league that would keep Kendall instead of Soto, I don't know what to say. With Hardy I've never been too big a fan. I appreciate what he brings to the table but seems like a pretty bland hitter. I don't think he or Theriot are anything spectacular. They are both dependable defenders and average offensive players.
  10. Who said anything about disliking him? Why is that every time a player on this team is criticized, the critic has to either have a vendetta against him or be a Cubs fan?
  11. Well I'm about 6' and I was looking down at him. Maybe he wasn't wearing any shoes.
  12. I would rather have DeRosa if I were tying to win a division right now. For the present time, I feel they are in a better position with him than the Brewers are with Weeks. It seems like all Weeks discussions eventually turn to "upside." When are we going to see some return? It's great that he can get on base, he's probably saving his career by doing so. And he has wheels. But his BA and K tendency are unacceptable for a player who's supposedly that talented. His range defensively is abysmal. Weeks is also hitting .220 w/ RISP over the past three years while DeRosa is .288 in the same category. He's also struck out 74 fewers times than Weeks in 40 fewer at-bats. He is simply more productive.
  13. How do you have any clue what I'm using as an evaluation tool? DeRosa has out-performed Weeks both of the past two seasons. No one other than a Brewers fan would argue that. Defense and offense, DeRosa has been better. Could you explain how he's been better?
  14. We can go past BA if you'd like and talk about his butcher-esque mentality with the glove. Although he seems to be getting better there ... honestly, you're not the least bit disappointed with Weeks? He was pimped more than any player in the Brewers system. He's been worse than Hardy. "Solid" has no place in describing his performance since making the majors.
  15. I'd like anyone to explain to me how Weeks has been better than DeRosa the last two years. There is no way a sane person can believe that.
  16. What has Weeks done to prove that he's solid? I mean really is that a serious statement? Has he hit over .250 since 2005? I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that they aren't disappointed in Rickie Weeks.
  17. The guys you mentioned are not the cornerstones of the Cubs offense. In Lee, Ramirez and Soriano they have three sure-fire studs. Guys that have been productive for YEARS. DeRosa has been a lot more productive than Rickie Weeks. Over 500 at-bats in 2006 and 07, hit .296 and .293 with an OBP of .357 and .371. He's been pretty solid defensively. He's a good player. I'd rather have someone putting up those numbers than be dealing with Weeks' seemingly constant struggles and gross inconsistency. Hardy all-star appearance was due to very fluky HR hitting that he probably won't ever duplicate. Hardy is good defensively but the guy is likely a career .260-.270 hitter, he's nothing much better than Theriot. Johnson is a career .280 hitter with a .340 OBP. He's not exactly a slouch, and did hit over .300 in 06. You can say what you like about Fukudome, but it looks like they got a pretty great player in him. There's a reason he got that monster contract, the dude is a baller. Soto is probably the best young catcher in baseball. I'd like to think Kendall is going to hit .330 all year, but I doubt it. All around their lineup is, IMO, stronger than ours. More polished, experienced and better.
  18. Yes, they do fade, but we play them next week. Unless things drastically change, I don't see that series going too well for the Brewers.
  19. Sullivan's. He was there for a while hitting on these two chicks. Looked like your average Joe. Not bulked up at all and if I guessed, I would say 5'10" tops. A little while after I got the hat signed, everyone hoarded over to him and he just jumped up and ran out.
  20. Funny because when I first saw him, my first thought was actually, "Oh my God, that's Brett Favre," and then I realized the truth.
  21. To me it comes down to the fact that the Cubs have a lineup full of guys who have achieved. They are proven and way more experienced. The Brewers have some guys you know will be solid, and then a whole lot of guys who either haven't lived up the hype or aren't that good. Who in our lineup do you trust to be truly good for the duration of the year? For me, it's basically Hart, Fielder and Braun. After that, it's not very comfortable. At this point I think I'd prefer DeRosa to Weeks. Hardy and Theriot are almost the same guy. But when you've got Fukudome, Lee, Soriano, Ramirez, Soto, that's a tough lineup. And Johnson looks like he did in 2006. They are stronger all around. Neither pitching staff is anything fantastic, but with Sheets surely headed for the DL and nothing but youth (outside of Suppan) filling the rotation, I just don't see this team finishing ahead of the Cubs. It's hard to see the WC coming from the Central but I guess it could happen.
  22. Something about how every hitter in the lineup is smoking the ball and half of ours is hitting .200. And our starting pitchers don't have me that excited. They're putting a lineup out there with guys like Ramirez, Soriano, Lee and Fukudome while we're still waiting for Rickie Weeks to prove he even belongs in the majors.
  23. I think he's right. Chicago is built too tough. I see them winning around 95 games. The Brewers will have to win a WC spot, IMO.
  24. They're going to kill us.
