  1. As of a few days ago, some of their fans were convinced that they still were.Once the lead got past 6 games, they no longer did. Because they still have six games left with the Brewers anything 6 or below and they can force a tie just by winning all of their games.
  2. I feel your pain. I live in Iowa, and due to the weird MLB market rules, I get to see 95% of the Brewers games here (Iowa is considered in market for six different teams). However, because one of the other games is Cubs vs. Cardinals, two of the other in-market teams, I'm out of luck today. I would love to watch Fox and see their advertisements, but I won't be able to.
  3. Whenever we go up to Milwaukee for a game, we usually stay at the Residence Inn in Brookfield. It's a little pricey, but the comfort and the ease of access can't be beat. Plus you get a refrigerator for the beer you WILL buy after any of the brewery tours that you do.
  4. The Brewers are playing, the IndyCar race is starting, and the Gold Cup final, USA vs. Mexico is about to start. How good am I at watching three things at once? I hate to say it, but with the lead, it'll probably be the Brewers who get relegated to rare check-in status.
  5. Yeah, swinging at a pitch way outside the strike zone and hitting a soft liner about 150 feet is not getting hot. See, I've got to disagree with this. At least for that at-bat, it looked like Casey knew what he was looking for, and when it came, it was just a little further outside than what he had expected. In general, I don't know. There was a reason he was available on waivers. I'm willing to at least wait it out though. Anyone remember those half and half JJ Hardy seasons?
  6. Well, that's a start. How hard did you have to hit that to make it go out there?
  7. I thought that Braun shot was a double in the gap. I just laughed when I saw Fielder get hit, he didn't move at all.
  8. I don't follow the draft enough to know where to look for this, but can someone tell me all the times the Brewers have picked #5 in the draft? I know Braun was picked there, as was Jenkins, but were there any others? Also, what kind of value are you looking for there? I can't imagine a multi-All Star like Jenkins would be a disappointment with that pick, although you would love to always choose someone like Braun.
  9. I think Manny thought it was gone, the way he trotted out of the box.
  10. One thing I have heard, and this is sort of similar, though in a backwards way, is that position players really prefer a pitcher who is going to keep the game moving, rather than slowing it down. From what I understand, the human rain delays always get more errors committed behind them, because players just aren't quite as sharp and ready to make plays. Maybe that translates to the plate as well. If you're going to be lethargic in getting the ball up to the plate, the rest of the team follows suit.
  11. Weeks really looks on his game this year. I'm wondering if he realizes how many people are saying that it's put up or shut up time for him, but despite the average, he seems locked in on the ball and is only a couple balls landing from being a very nice top of the order hitter.
  12. I agree that we needed Weeks' speed on that one. He was safe on that entirely because Theriot knew he had to hurry it to the plate, and thus threw it off-balance. Great game for him, I really hope this is his year. If he keeps up this run scoring rate, he'll cement himself in the lead-off spot. On another note, according to ESPN, Rickie plays a pretty good second base. I know his penchant for both the spectacular and the boneheaded, has he really improved to above average with the glove?
  13. That's because he is. A lot of those ad boards are green screens. Take a look at it next time you go to Miller Park. Nobody would allow that kind of ad directly in line with the pitcher's eye.
  14. Braun makes an out and still runs the pitcher. To be fair, he ripped the ball, just right at Teahen at 3rd base. After seeing the HR given up to Dunn and another ball pounded, the Canadian manager had seen enough.
