  1. Weeks will be back within a couple weeks. When an all star starter gets hurt you are going to have a much lesser player there. Counsell, Lopez, Hairston, Wilson, whatever. All of them are going to get some time there. There is not much difference between them (and yes I know Hairston has a higher OBP) and they will all just get some time and we will wait until Weeks gets back. And Hart having a .789 does nothing for your argument. He still plays everyday he can.
  2. Is this serious? Now we are benching Hart and McGehee? This has to be the best post ever. Do people really think they are just going to bring someone up and replace Hart's 800+ ops that easily? This cannot be a serious statement.
  3. Only obvious to those who believe they know what is going on. He has our normal lineup except for Hart and Casey, who brewerfan has killed for the entire year. So with Weeks out, this is the lineup we are going to have with Hart getting a day. Problem is nobody is getting hits and some just feel the need to complain about something. Morton has been good. Whenever the Brewers get shutout the complaining starts. Even if we have all starters in there, somebody will come up with some stats to say someone else should be in there. It is tiring and funny how some believe they know how to manage better than RR or any other manager. It is tiring and funny that certain fans will defend their own front offices as the authority because they are paid for their services when other front offices who are also paid would do things different. Seeing RR does all these things that BF looks at as the wrong move, I will stick with doing the opposite of the "ideas" here and RR will be correct 95% of the time. There are so many things that are said here that are just completely wrong and if you keep at it long enough something may go your way. Problem is you don't have to answer to your wrongs and can enjoy your glory when you are correct. It's a little different when you live in the real world and not just typing in a blog.
  4. Yes. And Water is Wet. (No offense intended, just want to point out how frustrating it is when fans like us can see the obvious but somehow Roenicke & Melvin can't!) Only obvious to those who believe they know what is going on. He has our normal lineup except for Hart and Casey, who brewerfan has killed for the entire year. 5. Felipe Lopez as the lead-off hitter? Mark Kotsay (of all people) "protecting" Prince?. Counsell at 2B & Lopez at 3rd? Kotsay has been there before and what is the difference between that and Casey? And Lopez is in that spot for Hart. Only difference. Weeks is out so all the guys are about the same as 2B. TauPenta thinks like I do. No major differences here. People just look to complain about stuff even when there is little difference.
  6. Hart is the only big piece missing. Casey can sit and it's no big deal. Other than that it's the same guys. It's like people post the same thing everytime one starter is out. Bench guys are going to play. If you call this the AAA lineup, then you can say that everyday I guess. Missing Hart one day does not make the lineup completely awful.
  7. Ya we should just get rid of that prince guy. Because that's what I said.Sometimes with good offensive players, you get bad defense. Kinda like Berkman and Holliday. And vice versa. If we had good fielders and bad hitter people would complain. People will complain either way. Very few players can do it all. Failure to realize that is the main problem.
  8. I was absolutely one of the guys that said Counsell should have gotten more playing time, when he was at least getting on base at a .315 clip. Of course as time has progressed, Counsell has been a hack at the plate, and has done nothing to deserve playing time. Every player is going to have defenders and detractors, I don't know why this is surprising to people. The problem with Yuni is not only did he start poor, many people looked at the stats AND the scouting reports AND the fan banter and came to the conclusion that Yuni would be among the worst starting SS's this year. Even WITH his current hot streak, he's one of the worst starting SS's. his offense has, at BEST, minimized the impact of his terrible, statue-esque defense. Poeple say he has 'steady hands on balls he gets to', and that's great. Too many people still use errors as the top judgement tool though. I'd far rather have a shortstop that gets to 90 balls out of 100, and boots 10 of them, than a SS that gets to 60 balls out of 100, and boots 5 of them. The 'error prone' guy is still making 15 more outs. Yes, that's an extreme example, but the people that are saying Yuni's defense 'isn't that bad' are really undervaluing how important the shortstop's defense is to a team. I would much rather have Greinke and Yuni's middle of the road NL SS stats. Many fail to take thisinto consideration when "trying to improve the team" and coming up with the many scenarios of changes. Maybe when Prince leaves we will use that money to improve SS but while Prince is still here we are stretched out with the payroll and a significant upgrade is not happening. I will take the pitching everytime.
  9. He sure is. And just thinking about the folks here who had him gone and wanted guys like Barmes to replace him. Would have been a lateral move a few weeks ago and now it would just be awful. Just another example of just doing the opposite of what is talked about here works almost everytime.
  10. Which is exactly why you play him while he is hot. We know you hate Yuni, we got it. He is going to be the SS this year so just deal with it.
  11. It kind of goes along with the other stuff he posts so I don't mind it. Marcum had a bad game. They needed one run in the last 4 innings and couldn't do it. Sooner or later one of the teams is going to find $#*%#* or a bloop to get a run. Plenty of chances and it just didnt happen. Jackson very hittable tomorrow.
  12. So putting any of our other options at 2B makes that big of difference? Who do you want? Counsell or Lopez? And seeing there are mostly regulars in there I am baffled at the JV comment. Guess you are one of the JSonline guys mentioned in the other post. Put me in the camp that takes offense to this as well. The guy was just stating his opinion and you are trying to tear him down? Like I've said before, you seem like the one who belongs in the jsonline section, not anyone else. edit: and yes Lopez would be a better option than Wilson since he has actually been playing. If you want to get Wilson some at-bats, it should be in place of those times when Counsell starts. So let me gets this straight. Casey and Yuni get bashed over and over yet Lopez and his awful stats the last couple of years are better than what? Point was Wilson was the flavor of the week just recently and now he should never play? Opinions change so fast here, it is hard to keep things straight. Regardless of who plays, there is little difference and was confused by the JV lineup. Without Weeks and not having Morgan because of the lefty, this is just about the best lineup we have. 2b will be a downgrade until Weeks gets back and like Kotsay, Wilson and Counsell may get a start from time to time. Lopez will go 0-16 and then there will be complaints that he is in the lineup. Nobody can have a bad stretch or there should be changes immediately. I think RR does a great job of getting guys in and it's hard to complain with the results.

  14. This is exactly why players are never as good or as bad as people on here make them out to be. They use the same stats to bang on a player but decide the stats are no good when they don't support the argument. Yuni is nowhere near as bad as people say he is and Casey has struggled both with the bat and in the field, but is still somewhat serviceable. Not saying I would not take an upgrade for either but I would still make a trade for a lefty out of the bullpen first.
