  1. Its looking like another play from behind game for the crew.
  2. Last Thursday (6-30) Roenicki told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Hart could start minor league rehab by the following week, and Hart was seen on field this Saturday vs Philly doing running drills. However, there has yet to be any official announcement for a timetable, and it's well known that Hart has had a slow recovery thus far. I will keep an eye out.
  3. This game was a perfect overview of the whole year so far. No pitching, and a very good offence that can't overcome the hole they are put in. I do feel hopeful though, the Brewers played 3 exciting and competitive games, and it should have been a sweep. I think the Crew is back. Now lets run down them sorry cubs and put 'em back in the gutter where they belong!
  4. If any other brewer pitcher would have started this game they would have won. 7 runs in 1 & 2/3 is ridiculous even by the crews standards I sure hope you are right!
  5. Since the month is just starting I would like to amend my record from 17-10 to 20-7. The Phillies are just terrible, hopefully the Crew will "handle" them and build a little confidence. Hopefully this will be the turnaround month I've been promising myself for the last month.
  6. "Not to pick on you, but what is the basis for this belief. He rode a horrible Casey Mcgaheehaw the whole season in 2011 when he was a hacking mass god. If there's anything I have faith in RR it's that he will stick with a vet forever. Sure I expect more days off for weeks, but he won't be riding anything." Your not picking on me at all so no worries about that. You are right, Ron has a history of beating dead horses when it comes to his vets , but with the Crews record as bad as it is, he has started to sit Ricky a lot more than I ever thought. I didn't mean benched for long periods, but I do think even Ron now see's with this pitching he needs every bat he can get. I suspect Weeks will continue to sit every other or third game until he starts hitting. which will only help. I would like to see a longer stretch so that Weeks doesn't think he's irreplaceable but every other is a good start.
  7. 9 hits after 4 innings and the game is still in jeopardy. I really can't wait for these pitchers to start throwing again. These games are tough on the nerves
  8. WOW The Crew really needed an inning like that. Maybe they will find the confidence they have been lacking. Good Job Guys!
  9. I like when Rock says the Brewers are doing good "situational" hitting when every hit is a tap. Of course that's what they are going for, wouldn't want to actually connect with it.
  10. last time we had bases loaded and no one out we scored 1. Lets see how it goes today. Def. need a big inning.
  11. If Segura keeps playing like this he's going to be playing with Sabathia next year. He needs to calm down. Right now he is standing out like a sore thumb.
  12. Bianchi came up in Weeks spot and got an RBI. Weeks hits it so hard that would have been a DP for sure. I think sitting Weeks is the only shot the Crew has right now....But we'll see.
  13. For me Weeks has gotten deeper under my skin than anyone else. He seems to come up in critical situations game after game, and we all know how he's doing. I think until he gets out of his slump. Which he will. They should play Bianchi. But even if he does start hitting I think a lot of fingers are going to be pointed his way. Unfortunately though, I think you could also make a case for Fiers, Gonzalez, and Peralta.
  14. I think Roenicke in June is going to finally get off the Weeks band-wagon and have him ride some pine which can only help the team. Narveson and Hart will be back, and RBI Rami will return with some clutch hitting. I'm guessing they will continue to struggle early and then turn it around in Cincinnati. 0-2 PHI 1-2 OAK 2-2 PHI 1-2 MIA 2-1 CIN 3-0 HOU 2-1 ATL 3-0 CHI 3-0 PIT For: 17-10 Ever the Optimist...I really can't wait until I can start watching games again and feel like the Crew can compete.
  15. HAHA you are probably right. I am grasping at straws to try to will this team out of the basement. These guys are getting harder and harder to watch.
  16. I think right now if anything the Brewers will overvalue Hart. With him out of the line-up the crew can't buy a win. Coming off of such a serious injury, I wouldn't think teams are lining up to grab him without knowing how the injury is going to affect his future. I actually think the Crew can't wait to get Hart back. Roenicke has got to be at the end of his rope, looking for a spark to get this team out of the basement. He has tried about every sensible version of the line-up and nothing has worked. He is also undoubtedly looking for some stability in the middle of the order. And at this point I think Hart is the only guy on the bench that could possibly affect the line-up enough to lock one in. Just my thoughts on the matter, thanks for all the posts, you guys make a lot of good points.
  17. Hi guys, I completely agree with everyone that the starting pitching so far has been ridiculously terrible. So terrible in fact that I don't believe it will continue for too much longer. All the brewer pitchers have proved at some point that they can throw a good game. Gallardo historically doesn't throw 25 pitches an inning and is 47-25 in the last 3 seasons. With 2011 being his best year at (17-10 3.53 ERA), he only had one player hitting over .300, (Braun at .332) and Fielder at .299 that played every day. Now with Segura, Braun, Gomez, Aoki, and Rami, all hitting as well as they are I just don't see why these pitchers can't put up some W's. The Crew has been putting up a good number of hits per game and just lack the "Big Hit" in the middle and bottom of the order. If Corey comes back and hits anywhere near the .270 of last year or .285 of 2011 I think the Crew will have that "tweak" that they need to put them over the top. By the time Corey is up and running, RBI Rami should be playing every day, and Weeks will either start hitting or start riding the pine. Bianchi has shown he's just as good at second as Weeks, and is hitting over .100 points higher in average. In the last couple weeks the Brewers have won most or all of the games that Weeks was left out of, and lost every other. I really don't think that is a coincidence. Lohse went 16-3 last year, Estrada is actually 4-2 so far and the Crew will be getting Narveson back. I know I am just cherry picking the good things, but my point is that these guys (outside of Peralta) have proved they can put up good enough numbers to win games if the batting is there. I'm not saying that Hart is by any means the savior of the brewers, I just think that the timing of his return (as in a couple weeks after) will prove to be the turning point in the Brewers season.
  18. I think the obvious answer would be minimal due to the fact that the Brewers offence is certainly better than their record, and their starting pitching has underperformed dramatically. But watching all the games this year it seems to me that the Brewers are always one hit away from turning the tide. I don't know the actual number but it seems as though the Crew is leaving about a dozen men on base every game there's a pitcher they can hit. I think adding a 5th hitter who is no stranger to a .300 average will do wonders for the middle-bottom of the order to drive in some of these LOB victims. Hart will shore up the infield, after proving he is a far better defenseman than anyone thought he'd be last year, and hopefully, end the musical chairs in the lineup, which will also allow some rest for those that need it. I think a healthy Hart and Ramirez is exactly what the Brewers need to get back towards the top of the North again. I predict that the Brewers will have an outstanding late June and July this year. After all it's extremely difficult to have five .300 plus hitters on your team and not win. Especially with a bullpen that's been lights out, even with fighting through 4 plus innings a game, a blemish free closer, and a team with high end power and speed. I think the Crew is just one tweak away from brilliance this year. I look forward to hearing what you guys think, this is my first post. And I would like to say HI to all my Brew Crew Brethren out there. This has been the most frustrating team in memory.
