  1. Got out of it with only one run conceded. Bit of a tightrope act not to give up the lead.
  2. A zero for Senzatela in a high-leverage inning. Good to see. Will need more of those down the stretch.
  3. Starting to look like the Brewers will need a metric crap ton of baling wire and duct tape to get through this West Coast trip. Definitely going to be hearing footsteps behind them in the standings.
  4. Not how one draws it up before the game, but it’s another win to take the series.
  5. More RISP stats not to love: 1-for-9 through 9 innings. Have the opportunities. Just can’t seem to get the big hit after getting runners on base.
  6. Scratched out a win, which all count in the standings. Now if Mis can put up a good start, a series win is likely. Just can’t have the bats go silent like last week in Anaheim.
  7. The discussion that no one wants to have is whether Yelich holding a roster spot becomes too much of a negative asset. If he is DH only and putting up a 0 WAR, that’s a tough way to eat up a 26-man roster spot. Might that mean a release sometime in 2027, eating the expensive remainder of the contract and turning it into dead money? If the active rosters are expanded to 28 in the upcoming CBA, that could change the calculations. Same with any salary cap/floor possibilities. Not a prediction that I’d want to make, but it may be something in consideration.
  8. Sad to see what looks like a cliff more than a sloping hill for the backside of Yelich’s career. Being a DH only while putting up a 0 WAR starts to push the discussion into negative asset territory.
  9. 1-for-4 with RISP after one inning of batting. Need some of those sequences to pay off with multiple RBI hits.
  10. Feels like a must-score situation in the first inning.
  11. Teams that have built on pitching and defense have to secure wins when putting up 6 runs. One of those frustrating losses when the offense actually showed up but also left plenty of potential runs on base.
