  1. "the advice was to take multiple players from the lower levels" OK, the main issue is that the Rangers traded D. Tate BEFORE the Lucroy deal was finished. It is very possible that Tate was included in that list of multiple players from the lower levels. Maybe that had something to do with Brinson being taken instead?
  2. This is a good deal. We got a top-30 prospect for Lucroy and a top-100 prospect for JJ.
  3. 1) Is it too much to ask for for Mejia to be a top-100 prospect on Pipeline and BA? 2) Saying that Mejia was high in Stern's personal rankings makes it seem like fans can never question the drafting or acquiring of prospects because after all, they were good according to the GM. 3) As I said before, he has reported attitude issues 4) When he cools off, we will all look back and wonder why Sterns chose to Buy-High
  4. Scout said today it was "general consensus of the industry" that Tribe would have to part with Frazier/Zimmer in a Lucroy deal. Appears not. I don't care if two of the guys we got might be future top 100 prospects. I want a guy who is a top 100 prospect TODAY. If those two guys were that good, they would be top 100 prospects TODAY.
  5. MEJIA ATTITUDE ISSUES ALERT
  6. Classic Buy-High Move. I would have waited until next season to trade him, since I honestly don't think teams pay that much more for 1.5 years instead of .5 years. This isn't a terrible trade, but disappointing. I guess the only positive is that we didn't stockpile more outfielders, and that C and SS are always good positions to target.
  7. 14 Arcia: Hasn’t overwhelmed in Triple-A, but he’s holding his own in the Pacific Coast League as a 21-year-old. Read more at http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/midseason-top-100-prospects/#lOqwIcdEdp0vZ2xc.99 57 Clark: Injuries have nearly ruined Clark’s first full pro season but he’s held his own when he’s not on the DL. 8. 1) Orlando Arcia 2) Mav Phillips 3) Jorge Lopez 4) Trent Clark 5) Gilbert Lara 6) Josh Hader - young, lefty, impressive this year 7) Jacob Nottingham 8) Zach Davies - young, performed well in minors and majors 9) Tyrone Taylor - bit disappointing this year, but stays a top-10 prospect for now 10) Kodi Medeiros 11) Cody Ponce 12) Devin Williams 13) Isan Diaz 14) Monte Harrison 15) Jacob Gatewood 16) Nathan Kirby 17) Clint Coulter 18) Marcos Diplan 19) Demi Orimoloye 20) Michael Reed 21) Miguel Diaz 22) Wei-Chung Wang 23) Adrian Houser 24) Yadiel Rivera 25) Rymer Liriano
  9. 1) Orlando Arcia 2) Mav Phillips 3) Jorge Lopez 4) Trent Clark 5) Gilbert Lara 6) Josh Hader - young, lefty, impressive this year 7) Zach Davies - young, performed well in minors and majors 8) Tyrone Taylor - bit disappointing this year, but stays a top-10 prospect for now 9) Kodi Medeiros 10) Cody Ponce 11) Devin Williams 12) Monte Harrison 13) Jacob Gatewood 14) Nathan Kirby 15) Clint Coulter 16) Marcos Diplan 17) Demi Orimoloye 18) Michael Reed 19) Miguel Diaz 20) Wei-Chung Wang 21) Adrian Houser 22) Yadiel Rivera 23) Cy Sneed 24) Taylor Williams 25) David Denson
  10. Extremely happy with this pick.
  11. Typically when teams have no "real" All-Stars, one of the relief pitchers will be named to the team. Go to any All-Star-Game roster and the relievers are a mix of guys who have high save totals and other guys who are the only guys reppin their team.
  12. Any chance Jon Harris slips to us?
  13. Responding to the Rosenthal article, I don't understand why Brewers fans should be comfortable with Melvin anywhere near this team. He's already President of Baseball Operations. What's next - Super President of Baseball Operations? He needs to go away from this team, not somewhere else on this team.
  14. Yeah, him reading a ton of our emails isn't going to change anything.
  15. Some candidates the Brewers may want to consider: Craig Counsell Matt Erickson Gabe Kapler Dave Roberts David Bell Brad Fischer (not that seriously though) Jay Bell Dave Martinez Mark Kotsay (current Padres coach) Eric Young (current Rockies coach) John Mabry Henry Blanco (current Cubs coach) Jerry Hairston (current White Sox coach) Joey Cora Bobby Valentine Ozzie Guillen Willie Randolph Bob Brenly Cecil Cooper Phil Nevin Tim Bogar Torey Lovullo Bo Porter Ron Wotus Dave Clark Joe McEwing Turner Ward Andy Green Sandy Alomar, Jr. Doug Mientkiewicz Joe Crawford Steve Scarsone Charlie Greene Ray Montgomery
  16. I'm tired of old people being our manager. Give me Counsell or Erickson or Gabe Kapler or anybody who played baseball in the 2000s. If RR is let go, Mr. Narron will (and should) be the interim for the rest of the season.
  17. Record: 83 - 79 Playoffs: No. MVP: Lucroy Surprises - D'Vontrey Richardson and Willis get call-ups. Disappointments - Braun doesn't return to star or near-star level. Gomez disappoints. All-Stars: Lucroy, Garza Bold Predictions: Lucroy solidifies himself as a top-10 player in baseball. Wei-Chung Wang fizzles out. Arcia becomes a top-50 midseason prospect.
  18. 1. Orlando Arcia -- Tier 1; No explanation needed 2. Tyrone Taylor -- Tier 1; No explanation needed 3. Clint Coulter – First Round Pick 4. Kodi Medeiros – First Round Pick 5. Wei-Chung Wang – On Brewers last season 6. Gilbert Lara --- Franchise star in 10 years? 7. Monte Harrison – High 2014 draft pick 8. Jacob Gatewood – High 2014 draft pick 9. Taylor Jungmann – Former First Round Pick 10. Corey Knebel - High 2013 draft pick 11. Devin Williams 12. Taylor Williams 13. Tyler Wagner 14. Tyler Cravy 15. Marcos Diplan 16. Jed Bradley 17. Victor Roache 18. Yadiel Rivera 19. Jorge Lopez 20. Nick Ramirez 21. Chris McFarland 22. D’Vontrey Richardson 23. Tucker Neuhaus 24. Miguel Diaz 25. Brandon Diaz
