2015 Draft Pick Discussion, Rounds 1-5

Posted

Please use this thread to share your thoughts, links, stories, pictures and anything else on the Brewers' picks on draft day from rounds 1 through 5. Please do not start separate threads to discuss the individual picks.

Please use the in-draft thread to talk about the picks, similar to a game thread.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

About to get started here and I just wanted to say that I sincerely hope all this talk of a 4yr pitcher has been a savvy smokescreen put up by the organization hiding their desire for a higher upside player.

I wouldn't mind if they took a guy like Ponce (who I've heard good things about) and went under slot, and then used that money to get another mid-first-rounder at 40. Would be disappointed if they go with a guy like Funkhouser who won't even be cheap though.

Me too. No #3 arms please.

Sounds like 1-1 has leaked, I won't post it here though because I know others prefer to follow the announced picks.

This coverage is awful, might have to turn off the sound.

I feel incredibly old when I see the birth dates for these guys :)

I don't know why but I'm not a Kyle Tucker fan.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Wow. Best pitcher in this draft and they are saying future Closer, not Starter material. Yikes!

Best arm... Maybe, not best pitcher.

Just saying. He was ranked in this case as the #1 Pitcher to draft. If they feel #1 isn't a SP long term but a closer. That's terrible outlook to me for the rest of the Pitchers then if that's their feeling.

No surprises yet. Come on Cam Boogie Jr or Tyler Stephenson....

Well the Daz Cameron slide rumors to a $5 million pay day may indeed have legs.

I bet the Braves take him.

I think he ends up an Astro, but I guess neither team would be a shock.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I would hate to get a college pitcher. Those guys get abused in college.

Ben Sheets worked out a lot better than J.M. Gold, Mike Jones, Mark Rogers, and Jeremy Jeffress.

Well, that just figures - I like Ian Happ. I was afraid he'd slide to the Cardinals, so I'd have to hate him, instead, he's a Cub - just lovely.
