  1. Now that the season has ended here in Brevard, I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who followed me this season and took the time to get involved and be part of the final season of the Manatees. I am not sure what the future holds for me, as I am not likely to follow the new team, barring a paid miracle. I am hopeful that something will come along between now and next April, but only time will tell. Regardless, I had a blast this season and I owe a lot of that to all of you. I have now started my own website and in doing so, I will now have every article I wrote during this season, in one place. They are dated and sorted by month and I will post links to each month here in the coming days. This will give those of you who are interested, a chance to look back at specific articles/rehab interviews that I did. I only missed four or five games, including three in the final week to 10 days, due to my daughter being sick. Those articles were still written, but don't have comments. There was only one article that I did not write at all. I tell you this, just to give you an idea of how extensive the archive will be. Finally, I want to thank Mass Haas and the staff here for giving me the best place I could've hoped for to get eyes on my articles. The opportunity to be part of this community has been amazing. Thank you all again. Don Rieber aka @TeesReport
  2. The Threshers will be broadcasting from Space Coast Stadium for the three games between August 29-31. It is a rare trip for the Threshers broadcaster, but since they are in the playoff race, they are broadcasting all remaining games in the regular season.
  3. I have watched him since he played his first game with Brevard County. No need to panic, no need for concern. Sure, there are growing pains and he said after his first game, there is a big difference between college and pro ball. He knew it was going to take time to adjust and he deserves that time. He is not taking wild swings, he's making plays in the OF and he will be everything a 1st -round pick should be, at least in my estimation. As you said, it's a small sample size, but he has shown glimpses of what he's capable of. I think he will be fine. Not only that, but he's got his head on straight and he's a down-to-earth kid. One of the best interviews I've done in my two years covering the team.
  4. The Manatees have been postponed in Charlotte. Doubleheader Saturday @ 5:05 p.m.
  5. Confirmed earlier on Manatees website: Marcos Diplan will make his first start for the Manatees on Tuesday, at Palm Beach. Game time, 6:30 p.m. EDT.
  6. Doing yourself a disservice if you don't make use of Donny's write-ups, with quotes and other first-hand insights not available elsewhere. This season's Brevard coverage would be a black hole without his work available to us. We'll see what awaits us from some unknown high-A destination in 2017 (Kissimmee or elsewhere). That being said, one other nugget from the Manatees' site provides a possible insight into better at-bats as of late -- "Our hitters did a much better job of commanding the zone, as far as swinging at their pitches and not giving away at-bats." Manager Joe Ayrault said, "Our hitting coordinator Jeremy Reed is in town, and I had a conversation with him about that today. Trying eliminate chasing pitches and getting your pitch to drive. You could see a difference in our guys tonight." I appereciate the kind words, especially these days. It means a lot. I had the quote you reference from the team site and got so deep into writing it that I forgot to add the part about Reed. Joe pretty much echoed Reed's words, but that quote is at the end of my article. That's neithere here nor there, just wanted to say thank you again. I will do my best for the rest of this season, but who knows what next year will bring. As of now, it looks like the Manatees last season, will likely be my last season.
  7. Wendell Rijo makes his BC Manatees debut today. He is batting 2nd behind Ray, playing second base.
  8. If it wasn't for bad luck, the Manatees would have none at all. Marauders tie it with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth and win it on a walk-off single in the 13th. Ponce has his 12 strikeout performance go for naught.
  9. Thank you Homer, I appreciate it.
  10. For now at least, the only place to see my articles is at: http://www.27outsbaseball.com/ Tonight's article is up now (on the right hand side) and can also be accessed by going to @TeesReport on Twitter. I will let you know if this changes. Thank you all for your continued support.
  11. Any help would be much appreciated and if those sites you mentioned show any interest, please let me know. It would be great to keep the articles on a Brewers related site. Thank you again.
  12. Out of nowhere, just moments ago, Examiner.com stopped taking new story submissions and will close down completely July 10. I am scrambling to figure out what comes next. As of now, I still have an affiliation with 27 Outs Baseball, but if any of you have any ideas on a good temporary site to put my articles up, I would appreciate it. I still plan to finish the season, so I am just looking for a spot to put things, as we have half the season left. Thank you in advance.
  13. Thank you very much, that means a lot. I appreciate it.
  14. I am just stopping by to let those who read the Manatees recaps, that I will be out of town Tuesday (today) and Wednesday. I am heading to Orlando for my daughter's heart appointment, which will be Wednesday. As you can imagine, this is always a tense time and I need to put the focus on her, so I will not be writing at all for those two games. I hope to be back at it on Thursday, with the help of the road radio broadcast. Thank you all for your understanding and please know that every click on my articles is appreciated. Donny Rieber BC Manatees Examiner
  15. The box score has now been updated to reflect the Ortega hit.
