  1. I haven't been following too terribly close to it, but isn't the MLB entertaining the idea of bringing the DH to the NL also? If that happens in the next few years, Braun would be a prime candidate to put there. Food for thought
  2. I would think he would get yanked immediately after blowing it.
  3. Come on now, Prince would bring more then that. Are you serious?
  4. Trade Prince. We need pitching so badly. Him and Hardy should be able to net something very nice. How would Lopez look at 1st? Just tossing around an idea there. This team is too relient on the longball. Lopez is the ideal hitter. Hit .300 and run a little bit. Him, Escobar, Cameron, Braun, Weeks, and Hart can all run. Defense and pitching wins championships. Escobar Lopez Braun McGehee Weeks Cameron Hart Salome/Lucroy Pitcher Not all that bad, is it?

  7. Fielder wont net as much as Tex did. Tex bats both ways, and plays great defense. And I may be wrong, but I think Tex played 3rd at one point, so he has versatility. Those things make him much more valuable then Prince
  8. Got this from another site: "I am a Phils fan. I think that should let everyone know that no matter what team J.P. may trade Doc to, Phils or not, you will not be happy. You have to keep in mind the current number of players on your 40 man roster. Any player acquired is gonna need to be on it. Any higher end prospect close to the bigs not on the 40 man will be plucked at the WM in the Rule 5. You are gonna want young guys that don't require to be on that list. " Now, I have 0 knowledge of how the Rule 5 draft or 40 man roster works. I just read this and thought, "If this is truly the case, maybe we wouldnt have to give up as much as some would think." Just thought I'd toss this out there to see if it has any relevance or if anyone may have overlooked this claim.
  9. http://www.prosportsdaily...deal-not-done-182058.html "I just talked to members of the Brewers traveling party and they said the Mike Cameron-for-Melky Cabrera deal is not done, despite reports it has been completed. This isn't saying that it won't get done but apparently something has snagged it that could blow it up. Either the Brewers don't think they're getting enough back for Cameron or the Yankees want them to eat some of Cameron's $10 million salary. How could the Yankees bid against themselves for CC Sabathia, increasing their offer from $140 million to $161 million, then ask the Brewers to eat some of Cameron's contract? If that's what's happening, you can imagine the Brewers' amazement and frustration. And, apparently the Yankees' interest in getting the Brewers to add third baseman Bill Hall to the deal has gone nowhere. I heard New York was trying to get the Brewers to take back Japanese lefty Kei Igawa, who is owed a bunch of money and was such a flop that he was sent to the minors last year. Igawa is owed $4 million in each of the next three seasons. He has gone 2-4 with a 6.66 ERA in 16 games since the Yankees signed him, so you can see why the Brewers weren't interested."
  10. Werent the Nats interested in Weeks last winter? Didnt they offer Cordero for Weeks straight up? So maybe a package is wrapped around that. Something like Milledege(sp) and Cordero for Prince? Also, i would think a deal of Prince and Weeks for Zimmerman, with prospects as fillers, would be something to look into. Slide either Hardy or Escobar over to 2nd, and we have a GG infield. You can find any scrub to play in the minors or FA to fill a 1B void with solid D and good OBP. Let CC walk, and try increasing the deal to involve Cordero too, then all we need is a #2 or #3 SP (AJ Burnett maybe?) and I would think that would make us competitive next year. I dont know the figures of Zimmerman, Cordero, and Burnett, but im sure its not too much more then what it would take to get CC, and all our holes are filled. Hell, throw in Suppan and/or Hall to dump some salary. I think something could happen here. Prince, Weeks, Hall, and Soup for Zimmerman and Cordero. It gives an overall bad team a pretty good boost. Makes them a lot more competitive. Especially is Hall and Weeks figure it out.
  11. Crisp gets brought up every year. Not gonna happen. Hes not that good
  12. Exactly. This all proves my point. What i was trying to say was, he doesnt use the opposite field as well as one poster tried to say by stating, fielder takes what the pitcher gives him
  13. really, so tell me, why do teams put a dramatic shift on Fielder when he bats? Geez, could it be because the guy doesnt take what the pitcher gives him, and go to opposite field? To say hes more advanced then Braun and Hardy is foolish. Those two use the other side of the field better then anybody on the team.
  14. Ibanez is the one guy i really want. Ive liked him for the last couple of years. Obviously i want CC back, but if he walks, id be more then happy with someone like a Garland and Ibanez. I like that idea JB P.S. who the hell is CJ Wilson?

  17. So the Yankees cant count on Hughes cuz hes injury prone, but they could count on Sheets? Sheets has a long list of injuries. When hes on, hes one of the best, but not many teams are looking to invest a bunch of years and money into a guy who will only play half the time, and its not like pitchers play a lot of games anyways. I dont believe hes gonna demand more then 60 million, but i could be wrong. we will just have to wait and see.
  18. Sheets first deal was what? 4 at 48 million? Hes been injured for long periods of time in the first 3 years of the deal. So 4-5 years at 50-55 million isnt that far-fetched. And i would think that Sabathia would be intrigued by a 6 year 120 million dollar deal. This team is on the rise, hes got some good friends on the team, and IF we could get Sheets back as well, he wouldnt feel as though he would have to carry the big load. And im sure being able to pitch with an ace like Sheets, and a guy like Yo, would be something he would look into to.
