  1. If I'm the Indians I tell the Brewers I will give them the same package of prospects plus a choice of 1 of 3 mid level guys to add in Thornburg to the deal. Make Lucroy's option a player option. That way when Lucroy denies the option the Indians could then QO him which he would deny. Pick up a first round pick in the 2017 draft. Can't do it anyway, need to be with the team for an entire season to pick up a comp pick. If that's the case then nevermind.
  2. It seems the market for Lucroy is rather small and the prospects the Indians were going to give up is probably the best you could do. Adding in one of Kaminsky/Hillman/Mathias/Kreiger/Plutko and Brewers adding in Thornburg evens out Lucroy essentially being a rental.

  4. I like Mejia quite a bit. Has a cannon for an arm. Potential to be an above average defensive catcher. Bat is good. As evidenced by his current 42 game hit streak. His patience could improve as he only has 2 walks so far in his 80 pa at A+. Biggest issue with him is character. If he gets his head on straight and continues to improve his defense and plate discipline he is a potential multi all star type of guy.
  5. Sucks that Lucroy declined the trade. Liked the trade from the Indians perspective. Deal is dead for now, but things can change quickly. Hope you guys end up with a good return. Preferably with an NL team.
  6. Zimmer, Perez, Sheffield, Mathias, Kaminsky for Lucroy and Thornburg. This should be close to a good deal for both sides. Indians may need to add a reliever prospect.
  7. At this point I could see the Indians parting with Zimmer. With the emergence of Frazier, Naquin, Diaz, Chisenhall, JRam, Allen, lower level guys like Santander, Lukes, Marabell. Then there is Brantley as well. I think the Indians, as well as most people, now have Frazier as the top prospect in the system. Zimmer is now much more expendable and still very valuable.
  8. From an interview today with Chris Antonetti it sounds like the Indians aren't going to be trading for a catcher. Focused on BP help and maybe an OF.
  9. A package of Sheffield, Clevinger, McKenzie and Mejia would be ponying up. That is 3 top 100 guys plus McKenzie who imo is a better prospect than either Sheffield or Clevinger in terms of upside. I honestly think that would be too much from the Indians for Lucroy and a reliever (even a good one). There is only one reliever on the market that is worth a top 100 guy and that is Miller.
  10. The problem with the Indians top prospects is that they are at positions of need at the MLB level (OF,1B,DH). In the case of Zimmer and Frazier they are also within a year from being ready for the MLB club. The only way one of those guys gets traded is in a deal for an OF with team control. There is also a huge hole at 1B with Napoli a FA at the end of the year and Santana a FA after next year if they pick up his option. There isn't anyone in AAA or AA that is viewed as a legitimate option. That makes it tough to trade Bradley without getting a 1B guy back. The one thing the Indians have in a ton of abundance is pitching, middle infield talent and OF prospect depth. Greg Allen is the OF prospect that I believe actually may have the highest floor between Zimmer, Frazier and himself. +Speed, +Defense, +On Base skills. I think he is a for sure CF starter in the future ahead of Zimmer because he is superior defensively. If I were the Brewers he would be an amazing secondary piece to acquire.
  11. I should add that Perez is due back in the next 7-14 days. If Gomes doesn't pick it up after the break I think they will give Perez a shot and see how he does for a week. If they don't like what they see the Indians will then and only then look at Lucroy. It will be a trade deadline day deal if the Indians do make a trade for Lucroy imo.
  12. I tend to agree with you guys that the Indians would have to give up one of their top 5. The only reason Clevinger is untouchable right now is he is the 6th guy in case of injury. With Salazar having elbow soreness (even though it is mild and is going to make his next start after the break) makes him a necessity to keep. However, I could see Roberto Perez or Cody Anderson as part of a Lucroy deal. Both coming off injury but have already shown success in the majors. Perez is what the Indians will fall back to if the cost is too great for Lucroy. Or they may not even look into Lucroy at all and point to Perez as being the guy. Perez would be an attractive piece for the Brewers. That is actually what I would prefer as an Indians fan. Perez, Sheffield and 2 other pieces. As long as a bp piece was also coming back, be it Smith, Jeffress or Thornburg.
  13. Indians fan here. Would love to have Lucroy in an Indians uni. Zimmer/Frazier/Bradley/Aiken/Clevinger seem to be untouchable. I also think Mejia is untouchable as he is really the only good catching prospect the Tribe has in their system. Even more so now that Gomes seems to have fallen off a cliff. The most realistic prospect package would likely center on Sheffield. Not sure if that is a good enough starting point, but I doubt the Indians would give up one of their top 5 guys for a player that only has <1.5 yrs of control. What's your guys' thoughts??
