  3. Yeah, you and me both jv. Dennis told me over the break he was moving to the pen, that it was probably a good sign ( who knows?) He also was explaining the different approach taken out of the pen. Instead of setting up the batters for their second and third at bat as a starter, he will be "bring it" from the time he steps on the mound. At this point, just a change for him will be positive.
  4. Sheets did the pre game interview. He thought he was sharper his last outting as compared to last night. All in all he was ok with the way it went. He thought the blister was gonna come quick if he had stayed in. He sounded like he was ready to go. Dennis pitching with some bad luck today. Two misplayed DP's, an error, and a chopper over a pulled in infield. It was stated that Dennis will probably move to the bullpen after this start to make room for returning Jackson, who is being delayed hooking up with the Sounds, due to travel delays.
  5. I caught a 95 mph fastball in the 4th a couple of times. He was also pulled in the middle of the 7th with a blister.
  6. Wow. That must be the 1000 time I have read the Sheets / Ohka are coming back line. Sure hope they don't disappoint anyone. That line has been inserted into almost every subject for the last couple of weeks.
  7. I should think this series will tell a lot about the shape of the Brewers. The Dbacks are a below average team in a weak divsion who have played very bad baseball for three weeks heading into the break. No offense, mental mistakes on the field, and a bad bullpen. They have shown a lackluster attitude, and basically blamed it on the steriod scandal in their clubhouse. The Brewers should sweep a team like this in their current state, if they have any idea of competing for the wildcard spot.
  8. I can pretty much guarantee that was a joke.
  9. I spoke with Dennis this morning. He told me they said he strained his nerve, the one that was moved from the elbow. I'm not sure what the cause was but, he said his arm felt ok today, a little stiff, but might throw lightly Thursday. Hopefully, they will be careful with him and evaluate the situation for the long term. Thanks for all the nice thoughts.
  10. Well not good news from Huntsville. Dennis just called me, he felt something in his elbow in the first inning. He was taken out in the second. They are icing it for now and will evaluate it tomorrow. Nothing to do, but wait. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'll let you know if I hear anything before it's posted.
  11. I believe it's Brantley & O'Brien calling the game. As far as the old Neilsen box goes, I don't think they employ that tool any longer. The cable network can gauge it's audience electronically I think.
  12. As far as different squads go, last year players were moved without it mattering (I think) about where they would eventually wind up. It depends on many factors (again, I believe) sore muscles, pulls, where a player needs to fill a spot for the day. For example, at an A's game last year I saw a player play in two games at the same time, hitting in each inning for three innings. Who goes where during split squads are decided that morning, pitchers from different levels on the same team bus. I'm sure that all said, the people who decide what will eventually be, want to see a lower level guy on a higher level. The other factor is that naturally this is all done according to the Brewers spread sheet on their prospect lists, if they have them, or their rosters, who they think is AAA or AA or MLB.
