  1. If everyone pitches well during spring training and no more injuries what will be the Brewers 25 man roster for opening day and why? I think I heard rumblings of CC keeping 13 pitchers and 12 positions players.
  2. I cannot see Brewers signing any free agent pitcher unless there are a bunch of injuries during spring training or a bunch of pitchers pitch bad during spring training. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense or fit the Stearns acquisition model during his tenure.
  3. I personally think Brewers are fine with what they have for now. They have a lot of low cost internal pitching options that they need to let battle it out next 2-3 weeks before making any major pitching upgrade decision. In the end I think Brewers rotation to start season will be made up from the current internal group unless a bunch of injuries take place. I Just think they think they have reasonable options and if they all don’t work out they can just call Burnes or peralta up mid season.
  4. After the Yelich trade and Cain acquisition my iimmediate thoughts were we needed to trade Santana for a top line pitcher so we could make a legit post season run. However as of late it has become apparent that if the brewers were to trade Santana they would not get back equal value for him. And no team is going to give us an ace just for Santana. So I got to thinking that having Braun, Yelich, Cain, and Santan for an entire 162 game season does not sound that bad. All 4 are offensive weapons and if Braun could play an aquette 1st base 1 out of 3 games each series than there are 4 really good hitters in the game. If Braun could play 1st base 1 game every series that would allow CC to give each one of them quality at bats each series not to mention in games one of them don’t start a very solid late game pinch hitter( which is huge in national league). And even if Braun cannot play 1st base it’s not to challenging to get 4 OF plate appearances during a series. And if each one of them get some sort of regular rest than maybe they will help them stay healthier physically and better prepared mentally.in the end it would be great to have a top of the line starter but if we cannot get a good value return for Santana than maybe our identity needs to be to score more runs than the other team and hope the starters can keep us in the game until it gets to the bullpen.
  5. Makes sense. On paper the Brewers are a solid team that got better in the offseason and if a lot of things go right behind the seasons they could compete for the division this year. However on paper there would be no reasons for anyone outside of the Brewers organization/fan base to consider them serious division contenders. I guess the great thing about baseball is that its not played on paper but it would be nice for a change to have legit WS hope that is based on logic and reason. But maybe that is something that will come mid season or in seasons to follow. Thanks for your response.
  6. Hi Everyone- This is my first time posting on the Forum. With that said, after the Yelich and Cain acquistions there was not just talk about making the playoffs but talk about winning division titles and World Series. I understand that the team as is would have to have many many many things go right for them this year for the chance to win the division and better yet the World Series, but my question to everyone is, if the team made some upgrades and acquistions prior/during year are there any that would on paper make them a legit division or World Series contender? Or should we just be hoping for the one-game wild card playoff? Just trying to be realistic with my expectations this year.
