  1. Great managing by cc to put us in position but the best team won. Just came up short as most expected. Go brew crew
  2. not a chance. Bieber is solid. Santana is awful. Tribe is building for 2021. Beiber, McKenzie fit in perfectly.
  3. was there an answer from Counsel on that? Smoltz figured with first base open and facing Grandall would have great chances to end the inning. My only guess is that Counsell rolled the dice because he didnt want to burn another pitcher as he knew Miley was only going 1 batter. Dunno.
  4. Aguilar has even admitted to being tired, both physically and mentally. Playing Thames or Shaw is moreso to give Aguilar an extended break. Maybe they decide 2 games is enough, I personally think more games because of how bad his PH appearance was on Wednesday. Aguilar is still clearly our best 1b, but only when he's right. Aguiilar has been gassed. Prolly closer to 300lbs A few days off or even a weak off would be great and get him back on HR track. He has mostly been getting hits just by lunging his body to poke balls in the OF. I havent seen one solid cut from him turning his hips since the asg. Even in the HR derby, he got gasssd after about 8 pitches. He needs another several days off or get on a dietary regiman. Btw, our LH bats....dont forget about grandy. Him and moose have been a big counter to the cubs. Both can hit LHP as well. Thames and shaw bat less than .200 against lefties so until they can develop a mlb bat against major league pitching they should be shelved. Thames loses focus. Keep him off the playoff team but start him every game in april and may. He is great on the first leg of the race.
  5. You keep on harping on this, and it is much ado about nothing. You do realize that the right fielders who played last night went 2-4 with a 2-run bomb, right? And Yelich delivered in a key pinch hit appearance. Hindsight is 20/20. I think those who are still complaining about Yelich not starting are saying that by him not starting, it shows that CC has no sense of immediacy regarding winning baseball games in a playoff chase. Yes, it worked out that Granderson did well, and Yelich was able to make an impact later in the game, but had Granderson went 0 for 4 with 3 strike-outs, it would have been magnified even more. The thought of benching Yelich for a day of rest before an actual full team day of rest just doesn't sit well with everyone. No doubt it was an odd decision. It is just getting blown up way more than it should be in my opinion. That's all. because the cubs used the game to clinch the tie breaker. Like sitting Aaron Rodgers against the bears. Something is wrong.

  7. I finally shut am670 off last night as I got home. Every caller thanked Counsell for sitting Yelich so the Cubs can clinch the tiebreaker against us when Yelish could have sat 2 days in a row aafter the Cubs. Although they all said Counsell is a good manager, even the announcers and experts said it was a very bad decision by Counsell as there doesnt seem to be any urgency whatsoever. I hope our players can get enough sleep and rezt with the scheduled days off from now on because we wont make the playoffs with this nonchalant attitude
  8. the score on am670 in chicago just thanked Counsell for giving yelich off today. With an off day tomorrow, counsell could have sat yelish in the first giants game.
  9. Aquilar is gassed. Just watched rizzo hit a routine groundout and stretch into double play. Wow. No steam. But jennings just went in so game over
  10. and aquilar is on fumes. He is done for the year. Can barely move to first base now as he needs to get on a serious diet to regain some energy. Otherwise he is killing us. Long season for the big man and he simply is gassed.
  11. Not baseball gods. Its called Counsell. Bonehead move of the year to sit yelich. Just dumb. HE IS BANGED UP! Sheesh said if playoff game he would have played. So I guess this game didnt matter. He will be miraculously healed for fridays game. At any rate...perez at 2nd batter? Really?

  13. typical brewers. When things are on the line, rest the best player in baseball even though we have off days. Just like resting Aaron Rogers. WhyCounsellwhy?
  14. Just goes to show how bitter the loss was for the cubs yesterday. The biggest problem though is that the crew has 44,000 seats when it should have only 35,000 tops. In the meantime, the price of tickets will stay extremely low and there will be plenty of $5 ticket days.
