  1. I am really not sure what folks would like Yost to have done, Cordero and Turnbow (I think) have pitched the last two days in a row, probably making them both unavailable, and especially Cordero in a non-save situation. I could see leaving Wise in, but he rarely goes two innings. Unless I am forgetting someone in the bullpen, would people like to have seen Dessens there? It is not like Yost has tons of options out there right now...
  2. GO DOUG GO! I would love to see the Brewers add Penny, and it seems like Jenkins+Turnbow+Jackson would get it done. Jackson was OK when brought up this season, but I highly doubt he will be as good as Penny, and certainly not next year. I would definitely prefer Penny to Jon Lieber, that's for sure, and I feel like we have the pieces to get it done. So I repeat, GO DOUGIE GO!
  3. Rotoworld is reporting that the Astros arent likely to retain him, as he is unable to go multiple innings. He's perhaps a little older than we would like (he's 3http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif but he had a 3.47 ERA last year, which includes his time at the bandbox knows as Minute Maid Park, or whatever the heck they call that place now. I could see the Brewers taking a flier on this guy, although they do have plenty of bullpen arms already. Seems like kind of a low-risk gamble however, as relief pitchers arent too hard to move, particularly around trade deadline time. 4. Anyone think this might be a good time to pinch-hit Hart or Mench? Edit: or Clark
  5. Cubs just beat the Astros 1-0, Howry with the save, O'Malley pitches 8 SO innings in his ML debut (I think).
  6. Off-topic I know, but I was watching the Cubs-Astros game, and Michael Barrett just hit a homer into the Crawford boxes that went 337 feet. That's right, 337 feet. That is RIDICULOUS. That is all.
  7. 4 runs on 2 hits, I love it! I love the Cubbies' atrocious defense more though...
  8. That would be great nullbyte, and depending on when this starts I might be able to drive myself for the first few times. Plus, I am fully planning on buying a car, its just a matter of finding one to buy...
  9. I would definitely be interested as well, but I am not 100% sure I will have transportation, as I will be living on Marquette's campus. I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring to help you gauge interest. I could probably also bring people every once in a while at least, provided I end up buying a car.
  10. Seems like lots of baseball people think today may be the make-or-break game for the crew as far as Carlos Lee goes, in that if we win, he stays, and if we lose, he goes. Now its obviously not that simple, but losing this game needless to say would not give me a lot of confidence in this club. That said, lets get a win!
  11. Thanks mothership, I appreciate it, thats kind of the gist I got from the discussions I've read, but wondered if there was more to it. Thanks!
  12. I apologize, cause I am sure this seems like a really silly question, but I was just curious as to what exactly you guys would define as a "troll," and just how having two handles indicates "trolldom"? I know its silly but I had trouble finding another thread about it. Thanks!
  13. I really like the idea of moving Sarfate to the pen, as long as he can come in and throw strikes. IIRC he has a pretty live arm, so as long as he can throw strikes maybe he can come up and be a similar player to Capellan. It sure would be nice if we could just use the prospects already in our system to fix the bullpen rather than trade for help.
  14. FWIW, Uecker said Alfonzo was dead in the water but Billy dropped the throw, sounded like it should have been an error almost
  15. I dont think there is anything i hate more than giving up basehits on 0-2 counts
  16. sheethead, any way to show what you posted? id be curious to see a little more of that thread as well.
  17. I cannot believe Koskie got one out in center field, espeically after that ball Billy hit yesterday didnt make it, and Fielder's drive as well. That said, lets get some more!
  18. Another DP for this infield! If not this year then next year they will probably lead the ML in DPs.
  19. I was wondering if anybody knows what station the Huntsville game is on in the Milwaukee area?
  20. i highly doubt that Carlos "speedy" Lee chose to run on his own there, granted that was kind of tough luck with where the hit was, but if he isnt sent thats not a DP. edit: Darron and Bill seem to think Lee did go on his own, my error
  21. How old is Glover? when he pitched the other day he looked younger, but he seems to have been around for awhile, so i wasnt sure
  22. Wise got hosed on both those first two hitters. Those pitches were strikes.
  23. What the h*** was that steal call all about! and why didnt overbay swing! that was a TERRIBLE CALL!!
