  1. They will all charge a cover because they have pay over $1000 for the fight. Bars pay different rates than you and I do for pay-per-view. I think Fanatics is usually only $5-10 to get in but it gets packed. Usually, my friends and I all just go to one guys house and all pitch in. It works out well and ends up being cheaper in the long run.
  2. West Virginia was the top two seed as they were the other team considered for the final number 1.
  3. It was really freaking cool. I would suggest getting the audio tour as well, you learn quite a few new things. Totally worth it.
  4. I love my Blackberry Tour. Smooth navigation and built much better than the Curve. I also get fantastic reception with it.
  5. My top 5: 1. Three Floyds: I am a hop head and just love almost everything they produce. I currently have in my fridge: Gumball Head, Alpha King, Alpha Klaus, Popskull, Broo Doo, Munsterfest, Apocalypse Cow & Moloko Milk Stout. I just like how they put more hops into their beers and use great ingredients. 2. Bell's: Two Hearted, Hopslam and some of their stouts never fail me. 3. Avery: I have had quite a few of their beers which have always treated well. 4. Bear Republic: Just for Racer 5. 5. Georgetown (Seattle): All for Manny's Pale Ale - wish it wasn't just served in Seattle. Locally New Glarus produces some good beers and Furthermores Fatty Boomblatty is just awesome.
  6. He is not a post player. He is a perimeter face the basket type player. That is why I called him an oversized SG. And his issues stem all the back to HS here in Milwaukee. If you know some HS coaches you should ask around about him. Interesting stuff.
  7. He was an oversized SG not a big man. Kid always had issues, Buzz should have never offered him. Oh well, it's in the past now.
  8. This weekend tried three new beers. Three Floyds Alpha Klaus: It is a real good porter, very chocolaty but with bitter hops note. It is like Alpha King with a lot of chocolate malt. Three Floyds Broo Doo: AMAZING beer. It is their harvest ale and it is "wet hoped". It is really hoppy in a good way but has some malt back so it is not just a hopbomb. But it is freaking awesome. Lakefront Local Acre Lager: I was able to get three sample bombers of this from my guy. I was not a fan. No one in our group liked it. Thought it had a really funky flavor that was not enjoyable. I will try full production bottle once it comes out in three weeks. I hope it is better than preproduction samples.
  9. With apologies for nit-picking, only five guys on the Badgers' current roster are Wisconsinites, and of those only Nankivil and Jarmusz can expect to see more than mop-up time. I think he was referring to Anderson and Gasser who just signed LOI this week. They are two white guys from Wisco with the third white guy coming form Chicago burbs.
  10. Onmilwaukee.com just discussed earlier this year. You may want to check it out: http://www.onmilwaukee.co...ly/articles/kideats.html Another idea I have heard is Organ Piper Pizza: http://www.onmilwaukee.com/dining/business/organpiper.html?dontforce=true
  11. I have had my Panisonic now for 3 yrs. It rocks. When I got it was second on the market only to Elite. Now, Panasonic is the top dog in plasmas. If you are going into the basement with it, go for it. Edit: Here is a website I used to help guide me in my purchase. Plus, they do a great job in helping you calibrate your tv settings for optimal picture. http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/
  12. I have a 42" Panasonic plasma and love the thing. I got the plasma because they have an overall better, deeper picture than any LCD can come close to getting. Yes, they are energy hogs and there are some draw backs mainly that you have to keep the television within at least 15 degrees of vertical as to keep the protective glass from breaking and if you are in a room with no blinds have direct sunlight on it, there can be some glares. But, you get a picture with no motion blur, a much deeper and rich color format and one that is more lifelike. All of the stuff about image burn and the screen wearing out is pretty much a non-factor as my plasma has a 10,000 hour expected viewing life. One tv you may look into if you want to get something really nice are the new LED tv's that are out. They are pretty freaking rad.
  13. Many of the people I know who have Comcast in Chicago do not like it - except for the Hawks coverage. I had one friend have a technical issue and he said the customer service at Comcast was far worse than Time Warner Milwaukee, which I did not think was possible. Also, I have not had one friend ever have an issue with Direct TV that wasn't just a minor one. Just remember to spray your dish with silicone spray each winter so you don't have to knock snow off the dish.
  14. i heard on the radio a month or so ago that the farmer's almanac was prediction a very cold and very snowy winter in the upper midwest. where did you hear warm temps and below normal snowfall??? that would be very exciting... We use weather models to help us predict sales and we are expecting a more mild winter, especially in regards to snowfall, this year. Most of this is based off of the El Nino model. But, I was having the exact conversation with a friend of mine earlier today whose fiance's family are all farmer and this is what I found. From the Farmers Almanac: Annual Weather Summary: November 2009 to October 2010 Winter will be about a degree colder than normal, on average, despite a number of mild periods. The coldest periods will occur in the second week of December, early to mid-January, mid- to late January, and mid-February. Precipitation and snowfall will be below normal in the east and above normal in the west. Watch for a snowstorm around Thanksgiving, with other snowy periods in early and late December, late January, mid-February, and mid-March. April and May will be warmer and drier than normal, with an early-season hot spell in mid-May. Summer will be cooler than normal, with slightly below normal rainfall. The hottest periods will be in mid- to late June and mid- and late July. September and October will be warmer than normal, with below-normal rainfall in the east and above-normal rainfall in the west.
  15. Inner Harbor is great. So is Fells Point. Babe Ruth's birthplace is there as is Baltimore's Washington Monument. Other than that, hop on the train and head to DC - it is less than an hour away.
