  1. https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/1vmlpjd/baseball_americas_postdeadline_farm_system/
  2. Hurts even more knowing that Baseball America now rates St Louis' farm system higher than ours.
  3. They lost Bichette and were plagued by injuries all season. Pitching remained solid but they had a brutal offensive collapse.
  4. Great post. Plate discipline/approach is the only thing holding him back imo. He'll be a monster once he figures it out. It's a good comparison. Bonds showed more improvement his first three years, but Chourio is in HOF company.
  5. He had an 8.0 WAR that (age 24) season so he was already a superstar by that point. Chourio has produced quality numbers but not quite at Barry's level.
  6. Bonds did better than ok. He was well above average by age 22 and never really let up. To answer OP's question, I think PCA has the clearer higher probability path to sustained stardom. Elite CF defense alone gives him a higher floor. Average arm strength caps Chourio's ceiling relative to a true elite defender. Historically, elite CF defense and offensive output by age 24 tend to sustain high value for years. Chourio has youth on his side but he's gonna have to show some real improvement next season to keep pace with PCA.
