The Cubs acquiring 35-year Gausman does not seem like a big deal, which is why Toronto did not require a big return. If the Cubs acquired 2021 Gausman, it would be another story.

There is absolutely no reason to do that and would likely hurt collective bargaining. Skubal does not have a no trade clause.

Skubal does not have a no-trade clause. Detroit would have zero reason to accept anything except the highest bid.
