Actually the story was broke on the team one message boards i believe.

BA did a nice little mention that if you threw everyone drafted from 01-03 what would the first round look like. 5 BREWERS MADE THE FIRST ROUND!!!! The next closest is the cubs with 3. This is an awsome feet for the brewers and a huge credit to the rebuilding process. Congratulations Weeks, Nelson, Hardy, Fielder and Jones! www.baseballamerica.com/t...askba.html

Bryan Opdyke, C 6' 2/195 Tucson, AZ Baseball America Has a good body, strong arm, is athletic behind the dish. #1 tool is his bat, the ball jumps. Perfect Game quotes this. They say his best tool is his bat. Seems to be reports that he has good defense too. I think I like this pick more than our other catcher. Here's another link. www.tucsoncitizen.com/spo...cruit.html

It can never hurt having 2 new catchers.

With the main argument against weeks being that his conference is so week, i want to see how he does in the College World Series. This will be against top notch competition. He blasted a homer and 3 rbi's to beet southern mississippi and will play Baylor today. Good luck weeks, and good luck Southern U. the more they win the more we see just how good weeks is.

If only we had a lower pick, I think I'd be more than happy with this guy. In fact I think he's more worthy of the #2 pick than Stauffer would be. The kid averages 93-94 or so I hear, and has hit 97 or so more than once. Plus his line is so unbelievable its not even funny. 118 K to 9 BB!!!!!!!! Whens the last time you seen that, and better yet that 118 K's in only 51 innings. Thats more than 2 K's an inning average. Oh yea, and to top it off he didnt allow a single run on only 7 hits. 7 hits in 51 INNINGS!!!!!!!! That's insane. I just hope the cubs dont add him.

It quotes that Weeks will not be visiting the Brewers, so it doesnt look like the Brewers are even interested in him. If Loewen did sign then and the Rays took Young we could possilbly be looking at Stauffer then, but I hope that doesnt happen because I dont think he is a worthy #2 pick. Also, check out Delmon Youngs preformance at the workout. It seems like he put on more of a mashing then Prince did last year, and he is more athletic. Wow the possiblities. I'm now on the Delmon bandwagon. DRAFT YOUNG!!!! www.sportingnews.com/base...75192.html
