  1. this is getting obnoxious, but...I have second-hand knowledge of someone getting herpes not long after 'hanging out' with Braun (and this goes back long before the positive test result). I hate posting things like this, but it is interesting.
  2. My sentiments exactly. I won't wake up Saturday morning bitter and angry allowing it to affect my mood, but in the moment tomorrow night it would leave a pit in my stomach watching LaRussa, Carpenter, Molina, and Pujols bask in the glory of a World Series title. You two both do realize that you don't have to watch them celebrate if they win, right? I also will not enjoy watching them celebrate if they win, that's why I won't watch.
  3. I guess I don't hate the Cardinals enough to not enjoy a game like this.....I definitely want them to lose tomorrow, but if they end up winning it's not going to affect my life at all. I just want to see a good game.
  4. Aren't any of you enjoying this game? This is what makes baseball, and sports for that matter, amazing. Down to 1 strike and down by 2 runs TWICE! Unreal.
  5. Awfully tough for a right handed pitcher with an 87 mph fastball and without impeccable control to be successful against patient hitting teams, and that's only amplified in the post-season.
  6. Greatest hitter of last 50 years? Did you forget about this guy? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bondsba01.shtml Even with PED's his numbers are still mind-boggling, especially from 2001-2004.
  7. It was not part of the plan no. Sorry for being optimistic and believing in the team. Do you feel like a better person now for calling me out on this? Seriously people, continue to give up. It's worked a few times for the Crew already this series (does anyone remember the last time Garcia was cruising and the lineup turned over for the 3rd time through?). It's not looking as good as it did an hour or so ago, but there's still 5 innings left tonight and then some games in milwaukee. calm. down. I hope this is part of the plan. And I don't think my post stated anything about giving up.
  8. I'm not sure what the point is of calling people out for being positive, but it really smells. So many inappropriate attacks already, like someone saying they'll never like Corey Hart again and that the Brewers are "children." Everyone needs to chill.Attacks? I'm pretty sure I ended my post with "I hope so.", because I hope they are right. That's not an attack.
  9. So did everyone (sheetswannabe, ihart05, fondybrewfan, chickinbrickin, craigharmann) that had a good feeling envision an ugly first 4 innings and a 3-0 deficit too? Oh and for those that predicted a Brewers win (FVBrewerFan, chuckiehacks, ninja33), this is all part of the plan? I hope so.
  10. RR made some horrible lineup decisions, he apparently lacks the capacity to think. However, RR can't actually swing the bat. The Brewers don't have ONE HIT IN THE SERIES WITH 2 OUTS. That's incredible. 3 games, 0 hits with 2 outs. Tough to win like that.
  11. If he wants to get Kotsay in the game so bad, start Kotsay in RF and Gomez in CF and have Hairston leadoff.. it's really pretty simple.
  12. The good news is that Carpenter and Yo basically have the same pitch counts through 2.0 IP...45 and 47 respectively. Let's get to their bullpen early and start putting up some crooked numbers.
  13. It looks like the rain should hold off until around the 5th or 6th inning depending on how fast the game moves along. If the game goes into the rain delay tied, I think we'll have the advantage if the game is finished tonight. This could turn out to be a blessing in disguise if Carpenter starts out filthy.
  14. Not sure why people are surprised by this..I think a good start by Marcum would of been more surprising. He struggles to pitch against good patient hitting teams, which is nothing new for him, and it's likely a product of the relatively slow velocity of his fastball. Just look at how he pitched his last few years for Toronto against NYY, Boston, and TB. He is good in the regular season against young and inexperienced teams, but he is not a #3 starter on a playoff team.
  15. There's doubt in my mind that the Brewers are better than the Dbacks. We have far more star power, which gives us a much better 1-2 punch, but they have waaaaaaaay more balance offensively and they are superior defensively.
  16. Why is Philly trying to win? It really doesn't make any sense. They lose, and they force St Louis to play another game and they could potentially play the team without one of the top 3 players of last decade in MLB (Az). Stupid.
  17. I wouldn't say anything is set in stone yet. If they get out to a big enough early lead, I think he could be pulled after 2-3 innings. But if it's close, I would imagine he goes 5-6.Based on what was reported a few days ago, I'd be very surprised if this is a normal start for Greinke. "Greinke will probably pitch an inning or two, then Roenicke said he wants to get an inning for most of his relief corps to tune them up for the playoffs." -TH
  18. Does Greinke have a strict pitch count or is he just pitching 2 innings? I'd be nice if RR gives him 50 pitches and Greinke gets through 4 IP, which will only leave the 5th and 6th innings of a questionable pitcher (Saito-KRod-Ax to finish).
  19. I'm not sure if I want McGehee to go 4-4 with 4 homeruns or 0-4 with 4 strikeouts....I think the latter will probably be better for the Brewers in the postseason (assumption: Mcgehee's day is not the difference between playing the Phillies and the Braves) because it'll reinforce RR's position of 3rd base by committee going forward.
  20. I follow Gameday a lot, and I don't think I've ever seen this many strikes on Gameday called balls in one inning. Yikes.
  21. So Braun gives up on the ball in the gap, and if you saw the replay..he definitely had a shot at that ball. It was in the air a really long time and Braun apparently made a bad read on it. Then he completely misjudges the next ball by taking a few steps in before going back and the ball goes over his head. This defense is freaking pathetic. This is the first game I've been able to watch in a few weeks, I don't know how most of you can watch this team on a daily basis with how atrocious our defense is.
  22. Betancourt tonight: 1st AB -1 pitch: out, 2nd AB - 3 pitches: strikeout, 3rd AB - 1 pitch: out. Total: 5 pitches and 3 outs. Not only are his physical tools bad (slow, inaccurate arm, etc.) which make him a bad MLB player, but he doesn't make the team better really in any way.
  23. This is just getting annoying. The Cards absolutely aren't going to win the division, but continuing to lose to them isn't fun. As long as the Dbacks lose tonight too, we'll be alright.
  24. Loving it. Can't wait for the return of Rickie to make this even better. Right on. Replace Hairston Jr with Weeks, flip Weeks and Green, and replace Betancourt with Hairston Jr and that's one nice looking lineup.
  25. When Pujols is right, and he appears to be on it right now, he can make anyone look like they are not a big game pitcher.
