  1. Would this be a good result from a comp pick perspective as compared to the other rumored teams? Looks like the Nats pick #16, so the pick isn't protected.
  2. Until Mark consistently throws strikes, it really doesn't matter what his role is. Add the inability to stay healthy, and you really have a double whammy. It's too bad, but right now if you are the Brewers you can't count on this guy. I hope he can put it together, but i'm not holding my breath either. All that being said, Braddock is a good comparison. Both of them have the raw physical talent to make GM and fan drool.

  4. I generally don't post, but this trade suggestion had me giggling. We're more likely to trade for Walter Johnson in his prime, but we'd likely have to throw in Arnett in addition to what was offered.
  5. Take this for what it is worth, but I heard Buster Olney on ESPN 1000 in Chicago this morning, and to paraphrase he said that Bradley was done with the Cubs, and the Cubs know that in order to move him they'll have to eat approximately 80-90% of the remaining 2 years on his contract. Buster pointed towards the Rangers as a likely destination. Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4490125
  6. I can't understand why Calipari would even consider MU. If he can build Memphis into a Final 4 club what does MU offer. If anything, he'll wait for the next top 10 job to open, UCLA, UNC, etc. It's a lateral move for him unless MU dumps an obscene amount of cash at him, which probably won't happen. The job is surely better than when Crean took it, so I could see Bennett, Miller or a similar young coach seeing this as a stepping stone job. It clearly worked for Crean. The big surprise to me was how small the buyout was for Crean. $500k for a guy who had a $1.6 million a year contract for the next nine years doesn't quite seem fair to MU. They commit over 14 million to the coach regardless of how he performs, and he can walk away for 3%. MU accepts a lot of risk giving him a multi year contract, but the penalty isn't great enough to buy any loyalty. It would be very interesting to know if he had certain schools that allowed for a smaller buyout, i.e. IU, MSU, UNC, etc. To sum up, I say hire Don Morton and let him run the veer.
  7. First time I've listened to a minor league game on the internet, but unfortunately, the no hitter is no more. I blame the fiancee for walking in the room.
