Cousin Shipping Out

Hey everyone, long time no see. Baseball is back so soon enough so will I, yet again selling my soul to Charter to see the boys of summer.

But that's not the point. My cousin is shipping out to Iraq next week. I don't really have a great relationship with him (not a bad one, just the absence of one) but I wanted to send him an e-mail before he leaves. Any ideas on any comforting words he'd want to hear? Anything I started writing sounded trite or forced.

I don't want to start anything political, just looking for some input from anyone a little better with things like this than I am. Thanks.

He's a professional soldier. Tell him you support him and wish him the best. There is not a whole lot to say, especially if you are not that close to him.

Yeah just say "It takes a special person to lay his life on the line for the freedom of strangers. Thank You." Tell him that if there is something he needs when he is out there to contact you over phone or email and you will try to provide.

Wish him luck, also tell him a little story about how when I saw this thread title I thought Cousin's Subs was going out of business...and I panicked.

I might add a care package of some of his favorite snacks and music might be appreciated, as would mail of any kind. Get his address and send him something once in a while.
