I wonder if the Cardinals stole a sign in the last inning. The Brewers haven't tried a hit and run all year, yet St. Louis pitches out twice with Gwynn on first.

I also find it sad that the hit and run was so poor that they even managed a pitch-out.

I guess they must not be very successful at it, because off the top of my head I don't recall any. Then again, to try a hit and run a team has to have a player successfully reach first base. Maybe that is why I don't recall any hit and run attempts.

Whoops...forgot about that. Could be because Braun's hit was an infield single.

Ugh...and that would be why running on contact isn't a good idea with 0 outs.
