One wonders if Roenicke gets some kind of perverse pleasure in watching Axford implode every appearance. Maybe Axford ran over Roenicke's dog, or dated and dumped his daughter?
I sure am looking forward to two months of Bettancourt at 1st base, getting important AB's at the end of close games. Yep, sure am looking forward to that.
Living closer to the Twin Cities than Milwaukee or Green Bay, I went to (unfortunately) the Humpty Dome for most of my Brewers and Packers games. The Twins/Brewers rivalry does not even come close to the Packers/Vikings rivalry.
Last year the Cardinals make the playoffs because of Atlanta's epic collapse. This year they make the playoffs because a second wild card team was added. I have no doubt this team is going to win the WS again. I don't know how they can win with such a large horseshoe up their butt. They could have been losing 20-5 in the 9th inning last night and they still would have won.
Oh well. Fitting end to the pennant chase, isn't it? Another blown save by Axford. Should be a good team next year if they figure how to close out games.
I do. Just pick five blown games and we would be sitting on the edge of our seats every night. I know, most teams could say that, but our pool of blown games is quite larger than most.
I can't get enough of that Family Guy clip. It reminds me of me. If a team scores a run in the first inning against the Brewers, I announce to the family, "Well, this game is over."
