cell phone advice for older person

Hey all, my dad has a cellphone that he keeps around for emergencies only. He says that if he had an easy one to use, he would. What are the easiest to use, turn on/off, etc that are out there? He's 68 and--while a computer user--struggles to use the small screens and buttons on cell phones.

also, while we're with AT&T, any unlocked phone would be fine since he doesn't use the service-specific software.

Even something like a Moto Razr might not be a bad idea. My parents (late 50s) are not very avid cell phone users, but they can make and receive calls without issue. I believe they have one of the base model Samsung phones from Alltel.

So are you just looking for a phone? Is he tied into a plan already or are you looking for a phone/plan?
