Junior Spivey Interview

Give him a ST invite Doug! Who knows, maybe he could be valuable off the bench. Spivey was one of my favorites back in the day, and i would love to see him make a comeback... especially given his extreme love for the game.

Another outstanding interview - well done! I concur - Spivey is a great interview and the way he describes things with passion and detail you can almost feel yourself present as he is reminiscing about something. It's too bad that quote robbed us of potentially a lot more good interviews like this when he played.

I was going to comment on the quotes about Hardy as well, and the "it's something he's going to have to deal with/shoulder was never the same" quotes. It puts a different perspective on things, and may help explain why so little was being offered for him. It also highlights one of the biggest dilemmas for pro athletes of any sport - when you're hurt, do you try to play through it or do you rest it? If you rest it, which is usually the better option, do you get labeled as "soft" and "not a team player" and "injury prone"? If you try to play through it and your production suffers, do you get labeled as an underperformer and not given as many opportunities? Something Hardy may be struggling with too.

Thanks for the interview Todd. Good stuff.

Not to be too nit picky, but there appears to be a misspelling in the caption below the picture on the home page. It states "he game Milwaukee some good ABs". I'm guessing it should read "gave".

Is that a typo in the caption below the picture on the homepage? "game" >> "gave"

"I was flicking through the channels on the TV, on a Sunday in Milwaukee in the rain,
Trying to piece together conversations ... Trying to find out where to lay the blame"

That was a great interview. Good to catch up with Junior. My kids still have his picture on their wall, so I occasionally see his face and wonder how he's doing. Good luck, Junior
