Nyjer homers, Braun bunts. They really are the Bizarro Brewers on the road, huh?

Bunting wasn't a terrible idea by Braun to me. They certainly weren't expecting it, just failed to execute.

Depending on how the bullpen looks after tonight's game, Chris Narveson may have sent Mat Gamel to Nashville a day early. Wonder if McClendon is still on "stand-by."
i don't think it should be a problem. The pen has had some decent rest the past two days. Need Estrada to get through 7 and then have Saito (or Loe or Ax I guess) take the 8th.

Gamel can't catch a break. He hit a bullet ground ball DP his first time up and then crushes that one into death valley for an out. Thats an HR at MP.

Since we are all searching for positives right now I will say that was a nice efficent inning by Saito.

On the bad side I wonder why Braun was taken out?

I'm interested to see who's in the on deck circle. do you put McGehee up there? Counsell has looked awful tonight, and McGehee at least has some pop (in theory)

Not with his propensity to hit in to DP's

I was thinking the same thing. Instead as expected Counsell does nothing with a pop up.

i dont think so. Counsell isn't hitting well, it puts the tying run in scoring position and avoids the DP ball. oh well, hindsight is 20/20

If I had any kind of confidence in Counsell, I let him swing, but that seemed like a perfect time to take advantage of CC's strenghts and bunt. I appreciate the sentiment to keep attacking when the guy is missing like Capps was, but I think that's just getting a bit greedy, especially with CC at the plate.

Classic late-inning Brewer tease from years gone by.
