  1. Wait, huh? Shyam Das didn't do his job properly? I'm confused with all the pronouns. Sorry, too many pronouns, not enough names, and too many people being fired. I was talking about the collector not following protocol. Maybe there's a difference between his employer's protocol and the JDA's...I'm not really sure so I apologize if I misspoke. But I'm in agreement that I don't think he's any sort of a victim. The arbitrator (correctly) ruled he didn't do his job according to protocol, Braun got off, he got fired. Makes sense to me.
  2. so do the people he worked for that fired him...you know, for not doing his job properly.
  3. To be fair, it also saves Braun quite a bit of money as his contract increases in future years (not to mention if 65 games is a compromise vs the potential for 100+).
  4. I don't think anyone doubts that adding wheeler and syndegaard would turn around the pitching staff. And I understand that the mets have said they'd be interested in adding an of (i did not know that when I made my previous post)....but don't present this as a scenario the mets are "likely" presenting. I am all for being proactive and appreciate you and others coming up woth trade scenarios. But the mets will not trade wheeler. He's likely a top 10 prospect making his very anticipated debut this week.
  5. Yea he does...but if the other option is a guy like yuni who screams "DFA", which would you prefer?
  6. Even if the Mets were good right now, they wouldn't trade Zack Wheeler. But especially considering they are 13 games under .500, why in the world would they be trading prospects?
  7. That's exactly what they did to a minor leaguer who didn't have the MLBPA backing him/the means for an appeals process. good people!
  8. I would imagine dropping the lawsuit they had against Bosch was a pretty big deal to him. I think the suit was a load of bunk (I read a few attorneys say MLB wouldn't win), but I doubt Bosch had the kind of money needed to defend himself from MLB. ugh.
  9. welp. here we go again. http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/9301536/major-league-baseball-suspend-20-players-including-alex-rodriguez-ryan-braun-part-miami-investigation
  10. MLB sues the wrong person. Strong work! http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/9138889/mlb-admits-paulo-da-silveira-not-connected-biogenesis-peds
  11. That's a pretty decent theory that I'm surprised didn't cross my mind. Bosch is trying to get 20-30K for whatever he did or thinks he did. Braun's team says they didn't get anything useful. Bosch leaks that Braun's camp was talking to him about this.
  12. Braun: "During the course of preparing for my successful appeal last year, my attorneys, who were previously familiar with Tony Bosch, used him as a consultant." Cornwall (Braun's lead attorney): "I was not familiar with Tony Bosch prior to Ryan Braun's case. Bosch was introduced to me at the earliest stage of Ryan's case." fair enough. but he had other attorneys (Lyons, referenced in the documents) who could have reached out initially before a guy like Cornwall said he didn't need anything from him, because he has his experts he uses from the lab in Nashville.
  13. how does it contradict it? It agrees with Braun's statement that they consulted Bosch. The part that doesn't sound good is that it implies they didn't use Bosch for anything outside of some brief initial contact, so there probably isn't much of a paper trail to verify Braun's alibi.
  14. I think that letter is addressed to "Juan", who represented (as his agent?) Melky Cabrera....likely after Cabrera won the all-star MVP.
  15. except not odorizzi or montgomery.
