I agree that Braun needed to not be straight-up tagging on that ball, but the one thing I'm wondering is if he wanted to be sure that he could at least tag-up to 3rd if it was caught. If he went half-way, he wouldn't have been able to tag-up and make it to third, plus it did look like it was going to be caught.

Oh, well.

With 1 out, the risk/reward meter would say he needs to be halfway on that. If the ball is caught, there is 2 outs. The advantage of having Braun on 3rd instead of 2nd with 2 out is minimal. Instead, he cost a run by not being halfway. Had there been 0 out, I would be more understanding.

I realize this is probably tough to realize in the spur of the moment, I'm just explaining my thought process on it now, anyway.

Cardinals lose. Fatt Adams struck out to end the game on a ball in the dirt, and then hilariously intentionally kicked it forward, but was called out on interference.

Oh, I agree. Just trying to get in Braun's head there.

Why am I already getting knots in my stomach thinking about who's going to pitch the 8th inning?

Mine is in knots KNOWING who will pitch in the 9th.

Sedar does whst RR wants him to do- be a human windmill. Not his fault.

There needs to be some semblance of reason. When the SS has the ball and the runner is just getting around 3B, a reasonable coach would say "hey, we only have one out, I'm going to hold up here"

We're just running wily-nily lately with no regard to situation.

Yes, but its obviously fine with RR since this is far from the first time weve seen that.

That ball had a hook, not a slice Davey

Come on, just completing full sentences is a chore for Davey, I don't expect him to know the difference between a hook and a slice.

Exactly. Sentences are hard for him.

They got the video on MLB.com ... It is hillarious. That isn't how you play the game. Marlins will have to lead off game with a hbp to teach them a lesson :)

According to Brian and Davey, 2 line drive outs could potentially end Jean Segura's year + long slump.

Whew! I was worried it would continue on - glad they have noticed an improvement

I've never appreciated Rock's reading of the introduction line on relief pitchers more than I do now.

He's got leading, um 60, um, his appearing 60 time, appearances, most in league.

What didn't you understand???

You are at Wrigley - awesome. This game is a wrap! Now we can't lose. Sweetness !

Sorry for the bad news, but that's only at Miller Park......
