Hummel's convinced me that he warrants a longer look. I think he ought to be primary AA catcher, with Nottingham in AAA. But Nottingham has become the 4th best catcher. Fifth best if Mitch Ghelfi rebounds from a lost season.

Yeah Hummel is my guy as well. Switch-hitting catcher with good plate discipline (Almost 1:1 BB/K). The little I've heard and seen about his defense seems favourable, but if anyone has more on that front I'd be happy to hear it. We're not exactly blessed with great catching in the system, so Hummel should have a decent chance at rising through the system.

 

370PAs is still a small sample size though; his increased offensive production might not be a permanent thing. Will be interesting to follow!
