So for the sake of conversation, lets say Suter is brought up to start on Tuesday. What does the Cardinal bible on baseball say about hiding which game Nelson/Suter starts (I have no idea if the Cardinals have platoons positions or not).

 

I assume the other team would see who is warming up at the right time before the game, so it is moot, but if there is any team I would warm up both just to get their undies in a bundle.....

It's a gentleman's agreement to announce a starter well before the game. I've always wondered why teams don't try to hide who they're starting once in a while like you suggest.

How often does a situation come up where you really have no idea who is going to start a game? Just look who started 4 days ago, 99% of the time that's who's going to start.
