  1. Have any of McGee, Rom and Yoho been down long enough? Anyone else on the 40 man is on the DL.
  2. Sure hope Gasser can go six. Not sure what happens if he goes less.
  3. I think that is too much for Paredes. Wasn't he a free agent this last summer and the Brewers didn't sign him then, so makes me think the Brewers probably don't value him as much as others might. Or was his name just bandied about because we would trade for him?
  4. At this date, I would be trying to find a Jerry Hairston Jr. type player for 3B as the top priority. Only need someone for a year at 3B. Unless we are acquiring a guy with 3-5 years of service remaining - then go ahead and do a full Yelich trade and include Jett Williams / Adams +.
  5. I kind of assumed this was Bucknor's way of retiring quietly. With the union, if he really wanted to ump they could force MLB to use him (I assume).
  6. If you send Sproat down it is to give him some time off, so there are no issues at the end of the season with workload. I think he is the #4 (or #3 if Woody isn't available) starter (or opener) for us in the playoffs if we do not acquire a frontline starter at the deadline.
  7. The other teams can see this too. I don't think I would trade for him at close to fair value if I was a rival GM. Who knows what the dehydration/fainting issue really was. Then he got sick during a game, and now a hamstring?......
  8. They are not going to DFA Kuhnel (my assumption, from the leverage spots they have been pitching him). So Yoho or Rom.
  9. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/06/red-sox-trade-rumors-sonny-gray-open-waiving-clause.html Sonny Gray. I only bring it up since we like our Boston trades, and we are going to need another frontline starter for the playoffs. Bonus - an old Brewer mention. ........ It bears emphasizing that the mutual option won’t be viewed by any acquiring teams as a possible extension of club control. It’s been 12 years since a mutual option was exercised in MLB by both parties (Brewers, Aramis Ramirez in 2014). Mutual options are more or less accounting measures, effectively functioning as small-scale deferrals by kicking a portion of a player’s guaranteed salary for one season onto the following year’s books in the form of an option buyout. Generally speaking, if a player performs well enough for the team to exercise its end of an option, that player has likely performed well enough to turn down his end of the option in search of a larger deal on the open market. Conversely, if the player is exercising his end of an option, it’s because he doesn’t he feel he can top that option value in free agency (whether due to injury or poor performance), thus leading the team to decline its end.

  11. That doesn't explain the taking him out in the middle of the game, where the manager has to take him off from playing defense at shortstop. If its planned, then he wouldn't have been playing. I think the Brewers had everything lined up and were close to pulling the trigger anyways, and the Rengifo getting dinged was the excuse to push the button.
  12. The Brewers need to have bench players that are making min.wage or close enough. If Lara is still the 4th OF in 2029, they are going to be looking to unload this contract to save payroll. I'm not against the contract as the gamble is, if he is very good, those option years are going to be very valuable either to us or in trade value.
  13. Regardless if joke, Skubal is on DL, so can't be traded, right? So you aren't holding out Lara that long. But, maybe another trade was imminent? Lara would be the most obvious chip to include depending on how big this is. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/each-mlb-team-s-best-trade-chip-in-2026
  14. I hope they bring up Fitzpatrick for Hall at a minimum. Don't mess with it, just put on DL. Plus, they really should DFA Woodford, and bring up Yoho. Yes, there is no true multi-inning garbage man, but how many times have we really used Woodford in the role like yesterday? I will be annoyed if Anderson ends up being day to day and not pitching to 10 days anyways. So i wouldn't object to bringing up CarGo to replace Anderson and be the "Woodford" for two weeks.
  15. Houser has pretty big splits for lefties hitting him. So I can see why Ortiz is not starting.
