Nelson should have been red lighted all the way on 3-2. It's not like he's going to do anything with it if he makes contact anyway and there would have been 1st and 2nd with the top of the order coming up it it gets called that way.

Cubs just lost a series to the Phillies. If we hold on to this one, to be only two back after this road trip I would've considered a miracle. Heck, even three back. Maybe this is the beginning of a Cubs slump.

Cubs just lost a series to the Phillies. If we hold on to this one, to be only two back after this road trip I would've considered a miracle. Heck, even three back. Maybe this is the beginning of a Cubs slump.

 

Up 3-0 on the Dodgers. As ugly as that Giants series was, closing this out and making it a 5-4 trip, and being down only 2 games would be a big deal.

If it was truly "our team", guys like Perez and Villar wouldn't be leading off. Perhaps we all could sit in on some player acquisition meetings.

Broxton has a ton of natural power. It looked like he got well under that one and just missed a HR at the wall.

 

I know his cold streaks are tough to take and I'm not opposed to trading him in the winter for the right offer. But he's someone I'm kind of terrified will go somewhere else and hit 40 HR.

The kids from Texas lost the Little World Series to Japan. It would have been nice to go back home a winner in light of what that state has been going through the last couple of days.
