Free agent starter Charlie Morton and the Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal, sources told Yahoo Sports.

That makes a lot of sense. He's a good fit for their pitching philosophy. Would have been a solid fit in Milwaukee as well ... but the Brewers probably have more depth in that department than the Rays do.

I agree it's a good fit for the Rays and a good contract for both sides. I'm ok with not going for that contract for the Brewers. That would probably be the end of us making payroll adding moves this winter, we have other holes to fill.

Nice deal for Morton. And as noted, a good fit. Tampa needed another good starting pitcher. This fits the bill.

Yep. He would've been a target for me at that price. A big target.
