Got hulu so I replayed it multiple times... he never touched the bag when he landed. His foot was 3 inches inside the bag and he never got his heel back to it.

Meh, he could have ran through on the left...but only in retrospect is that easy to say. Good choice not to risk that disaster collusion that could have been.
