I almost feel as happy about this as when Yelich won MVP last year. I believe the Brewers have won more MVPs than gold gloves the past decade. It’s good to get the monkey off the franchise’s back, and I’m happy for Cain.

NL has a really competitive group of center fielders. I wasn't sure if Cain would get it this year. Robles and Bader were both deserving candidates as well.

 

Even if it was somewhat of a lifetime achievement award for Cain, I'm glad he finally got one. Not sure if he will win another given his age and unlikely to keep playing as many games going forward, but he will still be well above average for probably the life of this contract.

The Brewer media did a good job of mentioning every time he made a play that he'd never won a Gold Glove. Eventually that filtered over into national media too and he had a number of catches make ESPN top tens.
