I expected Eddys Leonard to make to opening day roster before they made the late flurry of moves with the Durbin trade and signing Rengifo. I have to imagine it’s only a matter of time before he gets an opportunity in Milwaukee. I feel like Rengifo hasn’t been as bad as his batting line would suggest, but eventually we will need some production out of the left side of the infield. I wonder how likely an in season promotion got Adamczewski is. There’s some space for him in that AA outfield. Payne too if they both keep this up.

I guess I didn’t realize he needed to be added to the 40 man roster. That aspect is a little bit of a bummer. Hopefully you don’t need 3 options on him, but we will be burning an option this year. It also gives us 1 less 40 man roster spot to cycle through waiver claims, promotions, trades, etc. just minor inconveniences if Pratt turns into an above average starting SS

Probably pretty good framework on what it would take to sign Made to a long term deal. i know griffin is considered to be a better prospect than Emerson, but this is a heck of a lot more.

Just reading the prospect reports I was thinking Lara may end up as a high floor 4th outfielder. Similar profile to Blake Perkins. But then he was impressive in big league camp and now that MiLBtv is included with mlbtv I’ve watched a few games and I’m back on board with him being the CF of the future and possibly even by opening day 2027. carlos Rodriguez might be in DFA danger at some point this year. Not a lot of dead weight on the 40 man. He’s one of 3-4 guys who might not last the season.

The 2027 infield outlook is definitely a bit murkier than I see the 2028 infield. First: If you asked me at the start of the off season I would have guessed Vaughn would be playing elsewhere in 2027. He still might be, but i'm finding hard to believe we would trade Vaughn and Contreras in the same off season. I do expect us to trade contreras, so if Vaughn is worth tendering a contract to, he could be our primary first baseman in 2027. Maybe Black gets a crack at the Bauers role, he'll be out of options after all. Second: Turang. not much discussion needed for 2027. SS: with the Pratt extension, I expect he'll be the primary SS in 2027. Not sure what to make of the Ortiz situation, if he rebounds to a league average bat it's a tougher decision. Third: I think at some point, even if it isn't opening day, Made will be the primary third baseman in 2027. I hope we're able to sign him to an extension and the Emerson deal is a pretty reasonable comp. 2028 I think the picture is much clearer. I expect Turang, Pratt and Made to entrenched as starters and I think Fischer winds up slotting in at first base.

The brewers having confidence in him gives me more confidence in him. I suppose he’s penciled in as our opening day short stop in 2027. this also probably firms up Made moving off of SS. (as far as Turang goes, ya we probably aren’t going to extend or resign him. However no reason to to at least keeping him through the 2028 season)

Brewers Acquire Outfielder Luis Matos From Giants
long ball replied to dlk9s's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Looks like Matos is out of options. So I’d assume that means Perkins will be optioned to AAA. I don’t know anything about Matos other than looking at his stats page. Nothing real exciting there. -
Brewers (Sproat) vs White Sox (Kay): 3/29/26, 1:10pm

Caveat of it being the white Sox, but it’s great to see this team show the same fight they showed so often last season. real bummer of a start for sproat. Couldn’t reign in any semblance of command. Hopefully he bounces back next start. heck of a job by the B bullpen and defense to keep the white Sox down long enough to give the offense a chance and megill to close it out. a little surprised Contreras didn’t challenge the potential strike three call in the top of the 9th to the first batter. Glad it didn’t end up hurting us. fun way to start the year! Looking forward to the next series. Harrison is the newcomer in most interested in seeing. -

I’m looking forward to Sproats first start. He only had 4 mlb starts last year but 2 of them he went six innings. So it would be nice if he can get through 5 or 6. I’d expect Koenig and Megill to each get an inning today as well. it’ll be interesting to see how we fare against a lefty SP down 2 of our 3 main righty bats. Luckily it should be a bit of a soft landing, a guy we should be able to hit. -
It’s not how we wanted it to happen, but we are going to see a lot of Bauers and Lockridge. We will see if the changes they’ve made at the plate produce regular season results over at least a month here.

I hate that the cubs locked up Nico Hoerner. He’s awesome and I would’ve preferred to see them trade him in the off season after signing Bregman. I do wonder how much faith they have in Matt Shaw to develop as a hitter. They’ve slid him into the utility role and was out on RF yesterday (Seiya is on the IL). The PCA extension has some risk, but ultimately they bought out 2 free agent years and didn’t have to take the deal into his 30s where his premier skills (defense and speed) will likely be starting to fade. Now I hope just like the rest of the commenters here that he stinks at the plate, but the speed/defense/power give him a really high floor.
