I was hoping the Brewers would announce today’s starter by now, but Adam McCalvy is still saying he doesn’t know. Some speculation that it’ll be Eric Lauer.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Since Lauer isn't starting, counter move to the Phelps trade would be Knebel activated or Wahl recalled?

Not quite...big day!

RHP Brandon Woodruff placed on the paternity list. RHP Corey Knebel sent to Alternate Training Site on rehab assignment. RHP Trey Supak recalled and RHP Justin Topa selected from the Alternate Training Site

Just announced that Trey Supak and Justin Topa are coming up for tonight's game. Being a pen game, both could theoretically see some innings tonight. Especially interested in seeing Supak since he remade his body in the offseason.

I think I’d take Hernan Perez back over Peterson.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Those hitters were probably begging their GMs not to trade them to Milwaukee.

I heard quite a few of them were hoping to catch part of the Haines magic.

Someone in the Phelps trade thread was upset because we're wasting a year of Yelich's prime. I think he's wasting it pretty well by himself.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

It’s just hard to root for a Jace Peterson. I mean, he has no business being on this roster. So when he’s up in a spot like that, while it benefits the Brewers, I almost want him to stink so they move on already.

It's easier for me with not having a minor league season. I just assume Ray and Taylor aren't better options based on whatever they're doing in Appleton. Compared to last year, when Hiura was raking in AAA while Travis Shaw was up here looking like he had forgotten how to play baseball.
