An ump's jump got much harder with the box on the telecast and people keeping track of every pitch and publicizing it.

It didn't get harder at all. A ball is a ball and a strike is a strike. Perhaps they'd get better at their jobs if there were some actual repercussions for their ineptitude instead of what I suspect are slaps on the wrist and being told to do a better job next time.

Watch some old MLB games and you will see they are vastly improved now overall. The scrutiny is much higher now.

So they did a horrible job before and now there is more scrutiny and they still do a bad job. As the homeplate ump just demonstrated.

I am in favor of technology being used a lot more to help out umpires but the constant complaining about officials/referees/umps in sports is a bit much. I always remember the kids that didn't win anything would blame the officials.

The problem against lefties with this team is caused by our right handed hitters, with the exception of Garcia, not hitting them for any kind of high OPS to counter the decreases from the lefties. Adames , Urias and Cain do not provide any kind of oomph and Yelich, Narvaez and Tellez are neutralized.

The Sano hit looked like a double play ground ball off the bat and somehow ended up being a 2-RBI double.

Just in the past week they've scored 9, 7, and 7 runs in games. I think I'll stick this game out a little longer.

I don’t believe they faced a mediocre lefty in any of those games, which seems to be their kryptonite this year. Plus, Houser is absolutely losing it.

What hand did the opposing pitcher throw with?

Cain, Pina, and somewhat Urias. You’re the problem. Your job is to mash lefties and you just stink. More so Cain and Pina. You stink.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

And how many walks and errors were handed to the crew?

Tomorrow will not be a must win but it will be close.

Come on now. They will be somewhere between 6.5 and 7.5 games up. It will not be close to a must win game. Not even within shouting distance.

It would certainly suck to get swept, but I guess I’d be curious what sort of immediate ramifications could possibly make tomorrow a must win.

They scored seven with lefty Sean Nolin pitching in one of those games.
