Maybe it's me, but I think what also is helping is they don't strike out nearly as much as they did in the past. Put the ball in play and good things will happen. Nothing good comes from a K.

I think the point 82brewcrew was making is that your perception is probably correct and that it's probably correct for every or almost every team. Walks = extra base runners = more and better chances to score.
