Will Brewers fans give Willy Adames the same treatment as are the Yankees fans giving Juan Soto when he comes back to his former home?

Mark Attanasio could absolutely have afforded to give Willy Adames a 7 year, 182 million dollar contract, if he wants to. He absolutely has the means for doing so.

Yes but it would have been stupid. I have seen estimates of MA’s net worth all over the place…….some say 700 million…..others 1.9 Billion.

Either way he should be making payroll decisions based on revenues and not his personal net worth.

That is how just about every owner that wants to run a successful….self sustaining business will do it.

Unless there is a Steven Cohen type who is a Brewers fan and buys the team from him that is how it’s going to be.

Ps We should also remember that Mark is just the principal owner…..not sole owner …he has partners to deal with……according to AI ….16 of them.

I can think of three players that I would actively boo if seeing them play live.

1. Roberto Alomar - Classless spitting jerk.  BOOOOOOOOOO!

2. Manny Machado - Cheapass punk.  BOOOOOOOOOOO!

3. Barry Bonds - Not the home run king, the fact he took the title from the real home run king by cheating his rear end off is too much to fathom.  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Also, just curious if the booing is just reserved for Adames or if you are saving any for the owner with a net worth of 1.9 billion dollars who didn’t want to pay him market value, since I didn’t read any reports of the Brewers offering him a 7 year, $182 million dollar contract.

For that amount it isn't a matter of you could, but if you should.  That contract would be a disaster.  I love Adames, but he isn't a player that will age well.  His defense is dropping off already and his offense is sporadic year to year.  He was big in the clubhouse, but is the type of player we need to enjoy while inexpensive and move on when they hit big.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

My response is to this line of thinking in general, not to you personally..

.. but why stop there? Why not put up his entire $1 billion+ portfolio outside of the protection of the business and sign Soto and Fried? He has the assurance that even though he would be personally funding 100% of that additional cost of operation he would be getting only 40% of the additional uptick in value IF that team ascends in value (and of course, that is only if he sells his portion to liquidate that asset to get his money back).

Are ticket prices to high, too?

My point wasn’t to say that we should have.

My point was that it’s a little hypocritical to only boo Adames over his departure, like he was the only one with any influence over the process.

I understand and that's why I was directing my response at the thought and not to you directly.

So he's off to a rotten start and you want to boo him? It certainly is a choice.

Not sure it's a coincidence that the teams Willy is on win...

Yelich has been the better offensive player than Adames in 2025

I dont care what his free agent contract would have been in total, it was the correct baseball decision not to resign Adames longterm at this stage of his career.  I think he's a great teammate and clubhouse leader, all of that.  But no way am I wanting the Brewers to   guarantee him a 9 figure contract to watch him turn into a pumpkin on the field, which will happen quickly as his SS defense declines and the routine slumps where he kills a lineup become longer with age.

Add Gary Sheffield, he wanted out of Milwaukee
